  1. Sorry for your loss. I find it theraputic putting mine back together, besides it takes my mind off what the future may hold for my 2. Hold them close!
  2. First car meet for this year, and rear spoiler finally painted and installed (with tape)
  3. @jalexquijano I agree with Patcon. Put some miles on it. At this point in time, don't go looking for problems. Should small problems arise, we'll deal with them at that time. Sounds to me like the carbs are finally close to optimum setting. Congratulations. You not only got it running good but you've learned a lot about SU's too. I like WIN - WIN situations. Now go drive it and tell us how much fun it is.
  4. Dear Jeff, driving a z or any other vintage sports car is an acquired taste. while mine has power windows, door locks, AC ect however its no match for any modern form of transport, it rude, its crude, its too low, the suspension is too stiff, there is no power steering, the power is not street friendly (it explodes in at 4500 rpm and does not quit) On a positive note....unlike driving any other form of a modern transport you will have a hard time wiping that stupid grin off your face every time you (will) drive it.
  5. Unless one owns a multi task CO2 extinguisher that will also chill beer.
  6. Thanks Jeff, yep it is but it was hard also on my wife so I couldn’t leave her side. But since I now have two little boys and I have gotten a second Z that I could drive. The project is back on, just slow to getting back into it. Sent from my iPhone using Classic Zcar Club mobile
  7. Thanks mate. Sorry for your loss, but as esmit says, building a project is a great distraction. I basically taught myself along the way, and I love learning new skills. That is the great thing about YouTube. Whenever i have the next thing to tackle and I have never done it before, I just watch a few videos and give it a go. I think most people have no idea of what they are capable of if the just put their mond to it.
  8. Finished L26 rebuild. All went well. The owner is happy. Three of us lifted the engine and placed it in the back of a Nissan X-Trail using the multi-functional "Zedy Cart". It provided great lifting hand-holds when strapped to the motor. @Zedyone_kenobi
  9. Alan , this is you ! Did you find some interesting cars and parts ? Or people ? Maybe in London, Kats
  10. Sorry I could not see you, Kats. Maybe in London next time?
  11. Hi scotta , I do not know I will be able to answer your questions, but here are some pictures what I have. Your car looks like late 1972 built, as we can see the last chassis number for 1972 is S30-101613 , your car S30-100698 could be built in September or October . Unfortunately The service bulletin Sep 1972 ( guide for the changes , this time created new chassis number starting from S30- 100001) does not have a wiring diagram. But can we use this, a diagram for Oct 1971 ? Because the headlight switch and the turn signal switch are basically the same up to Sep 1973 as well as the flasher units and the flasher switch. However, harness connectors had a big change at Sep 1972, they went 10 pins for the dash harness which connects to the body and engine harness. Sorry for poor quality of the pictures, hope this helps. Kats
