  1. Update Finally home and doing great. I'm going to briefly share what was going on. Kind of thought provoking unless you're satisfied with luck or coincidences. In layman's terms, she had an artery in her stomach that blew out. Took 3 units of whole blood and countless units of other fluids to get her b.p. up. By the time they took a pic. of it, many hours later, it had sealed up "on its' own". Multiple Drs. just shook their heads in disbelief. One smiled and said, "You must know someone". I think that "you" was meant for all of you. Thank you all.
  2. Hey SiteUnseen! Your post is what inspired me to make a one-stop-shop for Weber newcomers. Figured the task of tackling Webers is daunting enough, so I hope I can help out others brave enough to journey deep into the rabbit hole - the insane obsession that is tuning DCOE Carbs I'll keep adding to it as time goes by
  3. Old school method to find water in the oil was to put a drop onto a hot exhaust manifold. Pure oil will just smoke, no noise. Any water in it will sizzle and steam.
  4. Yes, it's a pretty slick device. Better than the MSD and Crane units IMHO.
  5. So happy for the both of you Mark! Best thing I've heard all day!! Here's to continued improvement and good health-- All the Best!
  6. You've gone 1/2 circle, from not enough pictures to not enough words. If you're trying to indicate that there's definitely water in the oil, then...bummer. Check the cylinders for head-related problems. Spin the engine with no spark plugs. If any water droplets at all show up, you'll need to pull the head. If the PO replaced a head gasket because of overheating he should have had the head checked for warpage. You might have bought a problem engine.
  7. Soooo...California, Arizona and NJ are expensive to get your car painted; Florida, Alabama and South Carolina, not so much. I was quoted $6-7000 for all my metal work, epoxy primer, finished in basecoat clearcoat. One of the guys would blast it for that... I opted to do it all myself because I can use that $6000 to buy tools and new parts. I figure I will have about $10 -$12,000 in it reasonably finished. I am not trying to build a trailer queen but a nice driver. One thing you could try, is call Datsun Spirit or another reputable Z specialist and see if they paint or could recommend someone that is not too far away. Even if you have to trailer it out of NJ, for that kind of money hauling it a few hours would be well worth it.
  8. The 240Z Project has been really cooking on a low flame last year. I was too busy with my Job and travelling. Luckily this year started out smoother and i'm really working to get back on the Z-Project. I Ordered one expensive part which will show up in a few months but so far i started reading a lot about the Z, because i forgot most of the things i knew maybe two years ago since i never used them However im starting to make plans for the next small projects of the Project and i'm super excited about it. However before i started to work on car bits, i had to get rid of the mess in my home-workshop (aside from my garage i have a little hobby-room for small work and parts-storage at home). So i bought some new shelves, moved everything and this is how it ended up. I'm super happy with it I can finally work without searching for the right parts and tools for half of the time Then it was time to complete a simple but not-so-simple job i've started a while ago. Before i had the Door locks replated a while ago i removed the old damper rubbers and after i never figured out how to get them back in, i never did it. Today i decided it was time to complete the job So took an old toothbrush and scalpel to remove old glue from the rubber. then washed it in the sink with some warm water and dishwashing soap. worked fine Then took me quite a while to figure out how to get the Rubber back in without damaging it, but finally got it after 30mins of fiddling around. Added some of the Super glue like it was from factory, but the rubber sits so tight, i doubt the glue is really needed. Just a small job, but one more box ticked on the 2-do list
  9. Update- Thank you all for your kind thoughts and prayers for Kathy. While I always had positive thoughts, frankly, I'm blown away. She is coming home today! Saturday - Tuesday in ICU. Wednesday, into a regular room and now being released today. I've never seen such a speedy recovery nor a hospital releasing someone so soon. Her Drs. are amazed at the speed of her recovery and can't find a reason to keep her in spite of their best efforts. Now we need to concentrate our prayers on Mrs. Warner. Don't know what went wrong. Doesn't matter. We all know what to do. You can't argue with success.
  10. After i was on a long vacation and visited tokyo auto salon as well (see tons of pictures on www.JDMjunkies.ch) im finally back at the project.. Good news guys. I thought it's about time to get the project rolling a bit faster again. that's why i'm currently preparing a few things. However thanks to my buddy stev (big thank you again, buddy!) i was able to get hands on another NOS piece: A New-Old-Stock Datsun Front lower center valance Panel thingy. Probably the last Bodypanel which was missing. Well i had one but it was rustend and totally crushed so this came in handy With partnumber and everything Oh and last week i got this picture from my bodyshop, letting me know that the car is back at the main workspace and ready to crank work up again. Hope to get some updates from him soon :)IMG-

I'm still around, but I manage my own S30z website www.viczcar.com so that keeps me mostly busy there.
