  1. When I removed the sound deadener from my Z it was winter and cold as hell in the shop, I found that if I let the car cool off over night and before turning the heat on if I went around with a cold hard rubber mallet and gave it all a good wack 50-60% would just bounce off. Then do my days work and next morning under the same conditions I would do it again. I ended up having to scrape very little. Chris
  2. Jai. I am going to look at some 280Z parts in a couple weeks that a person wants to get rid of. If things look good I will buy the whole lot. I just don't know yet what year they are from. It was gutted to build a race car. If there is a ECU and it fits your car, you can have it for free.
  3. The adapters in your picture are for Porsche 930 design CV ends, not 280ZX or 300ZX. You can tell by the bolt pattern. Six evenly spaced holes is 930, three sets of two is 280ZX, and four is 300ZX turbo. The axle length depends on how much travel there is for the CV joints on the shaft ends. No vendors seem to make just an adapter for an existing Nissan axle, although people (cygnusx1) have made their own for the 280ZX CV axles. The aftermarket guys all make hub axle and companion flange sets, which is somewhat overkill. There are plans for the adapters that will let you use stock 280ZX axles, on the Hybridz site. http://forums.hybridz.org/files/file/3-cv-adapter-print/
  4. I am planning the trip on Sat 2/13 or Sun 2/14. The person is only available on weekends. There is a complete dash too. I will get a photo if someone is interested. I am pretty sure all the cars wiring harnesses are there too.
  5. European buyers do searches on eBay, Craigslist and other North American Internet sites that offer classic cars just as N. A. buyers do. European buyers have also been know to have friends that live in N. A. or agents that do the searching, inspection and test driving for the European buyers. The two 240Zs that I sold to European buyers were on on eBay and Craigslist. The first car was sold to a Frenchman who was living temporarily in Manhattan then moved back to the south west of France a little later and had the car shipped over there. On the second 240Z, an Italian gentleman saw the car for sale on Craigslist and then had his agent in New Hampshire contact me to purchase the car and we made the deal over the phone. We sent the paperwork and payment through FedEx, then he made the arrangements to have Intercity Lines pick up the car here in Colorado. The car was then transported to the agent's shop in New Hampshire where it was stored for a short time, then transported to Boston to be placed in a container and then shipped to Italy. The first picture below shows the first 240Z right after it arrived in the south west of France from New York. The second picture shows the second 240Z being loaded on the truck in Colorado bound for New Hampshire.
  6. So how does one go about selling a NA car in Europe?
  7. 3000 hours invested. What is the labor rate there in Pounds if you have a shop do all the work? Then you add in the cost of all the parts. Including a new rebuilt engine.
  8. Personally, I wouldn't go with a solid mount. They will transmit a lot more Noise, Vibration and Harmonics than a rubber mount, especially on a DD . Just my .02c
