  1. Close to stock and getting better.
  2. Gen1 after 12 years of wear and tear. Gen2 is what Bad Dog sells now.
  3. 1 point
One more thing to add. Always mark the shaft and yokes before you remove the u-joints. If the yoke and shaft are installed 180` out from the orig. position you may have a balance problem. Especially on the prop. shaft. It spins 3 1/2-4 times faster than the axles.
  4. I'm still woking on the fender flares. I have to admit the holidays and a bit of car apathy slowed me down some. I have fiberglassed the front flares and am doing the final bit of blending. I'm struggling a little getting a good line where the flare meets the body. If anyone can suggest some good techniques I'd be grateful. I want a good consistent radius both where the flare meets the body and around the wheel that is free of high and low spots, but I haven't found a good blocking method yet. I don't like my round durablock very much and because it rigid it can't create a consistent radius on a round flare.
  5. Currently, my garage has my summer weekend car, the 2010 370Z under it's winter nightie... Besides her, are my dailies. A 2008 Lincoln MKX (stock image. No idea why I have no pictures of mine!) and a 2013 Hyundai Turbo Veloster (posing here with my lovely wife who drives it!) The garage also hold a my Craftsman Kohler tractor and my son-in-laws Vulcan 800... The back shop holds the 280Z as she undergoes restoration...
  6. If you look at the amount of asphalt residue left on the park brake assembly behind the RT mount, then look at the pic below where it has been sandblasted, the difference is night and day!
  7. This is what it looks like between clean up sessions. Not great pictures but the first shot shows all the grit on the floor. Second after it has been filtered and put back in the blaster bucket.
  8. Well, Christmas was good to me, as usual.... My daughter and son-in-law bought me a nice classic 240Z t-shirt and Datsun BRE shop clock! My wife picked me up three nice Datsun/Z shirts and of all things, a Datsun 240Z tie! What can I say, they know my weaknesses! On top of that, my ECU cover showed up from eBay. It is in such perfect condition it has to be NOS. There is no way it was ever installed in a car before... It's blemish free and clean as new! My 370Z club calendar showed up as well. It has a picture of my 370Z for the month of June! Awesome presents! I am so lucky!
  9. Thank You for the comment hr3969...it will be in a container and I have an idea about making sure everything is there before the release..... I went with 280ZX cross member and all the related parts and I think he got rid of all the 240K parts but I am sure ther are somwhere in the shop.... That 70 Z in the back round they will start the resto when my car leavs there garage......as you can see the shop is packed!! They wilded the firewall from the right side and made factory like holes for the wiring,A/C lines, steering wheel column etc etc......I think used most of the parts to do the swap......even when they cut the plate for the steering wheel column..... here is a very short video just to give an idea.......My friend will send more pictures before shipping. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Au2aOepq3wE
  10. Yep ,you can see the A/C hoses going through the fire wall in the previous pix.You have to have A/C in 115 degrees weather in the summer..... That 240Z was mine and Sultan bought from me last year and I shipped to him......he is doing a complete resto on that one, very low vin # 1970 240Z.
  11. Worth is in the eye of the beholder. If you want something, just how bad you want it will determine how much you are willing to pay for it. These cars are love affairs for many people. I'm one of them. Each time after I come home from driving my Z, I look at my wife and say; "that car makes me smile." My car is worth ever penny I paid for it!
