  1. These cure all efi problems.
  2. I remember Sarah doing something nifty with the ecu harness. Thanks for posting that link. I would love to find enough time to do that as well. Too many other projects on my bucket list.
  3. Great minds...... Read Fastwomans nice permanent solution, post #66. One of these days maybe my life will slow down and I can do it to mine. http://www.classiczcars.com/topic/37549-purs-like-a-kitten/page-4
  4. Hey Site, We must of been twins in another life😂 Mine is now tucked under the dash because I haven't got around to moving it back to the engine manifold.
  5. I used a heat gun and scraper. I would highly recommend trying the dry ice, though, because the scraper method is a PITA and dry ice is supposed to make it a lot easier. I believe Lacquer thinner dissolves the residue once you get the big pieces off, but be safe the fumes are very bad for you. Take it from me, you have a long project in front of you so take every opportunity to do things the easy way. I'm three years into my own project and could have been a little smarter at a few points and saved some work. Wait until you start trying to get the undercoating off!
  6. Here are a couple of pics showing some yellow paint marks that were revealed as I was doing some cleaning under my 7/70 last winter. The marks on the mustache bar were very randomly applied. The cross member at the front of the diff also has some yellow paint marks, I will try to get a better picture next time the car is up on jack stands. Mike
  7. I would try what Chas has recommended, it's cheap and easily done and reversible. Heck, mine runs so much better with the potentiometer I just coiled up the wire and threw it in the passenger's floorboard. I guess I should explain that better. I bought the volume knob at Radio Shack, $3.95, solder it to about 6 feet of speaker wire on one end and put the appropriate "butt"? connectors on the other end. Ran the wire through the firewall, plugging it into the wires behind the thermostat. The adjustable knob inside with me, drove it for a month adjusting little bits at a time until it was perfect (to me). Before I did it, it would cough spit and sputter until 2,500 RPM then pull like normal. Now it'll paint black marks out of my driveway, with a little clutch work.
  8. You care only about one thing. With the engine running, the ammeter should be one the + side (right). It will wiggle and wander in response to many things that draw current and control it, but it must be on the right (+). Being on the plus (+) side means the alternator can push current into the battery, which is a good thing as it means that the alternator voltage is higher than the battery voltage. On the left side means its discharging, which is a bad thing. With the engine off, turning on ANYTHING should make it go left of center as the battery is supplying the current. The ammeter then tells you if the battery is charging (+ good) or discharging (- bad).
  9. The leather door skins arrived today, I'm pretty impressed. Good quality leather and nicely done stitching. Can't wait to get started on them. These pics were taken seconds after opening the package where they had been folded, it has been a couple of hours now and the fold marks are disappearing. Chris
