  1. 2.5" exhaust. It may not run better but you'll think it does.
  2. I think he'd melt.
  3. Yeah, you are all right, I hadn't thought about torque the gland nut requires to hold the shock down, and if it does pop out while taking a corner it could get messy. I like to kid myself that if I can fix it then it's like I didn't screw it up in the first place. Jim, thanks for the offer and I might take you up on it if I can't find something closer to home. Thank you all. If I could travel back in time it wouldn't be to see a long lost love or make a fortune on the stock market, it would be to go around and visit all the repair shops that would ever work on my future cars to hand out free tubes of anti-seize compound. "Please gentleman, feel free to use it on every nut, bolt and screw you come in contact with. The future thanks you."
  4. Got it done yesterday. Was dissatisfied by results of previous brake jobs, one 8 years ago by myself and one recently. Performance after those brake jobs was about like before, not great. So, R4S's , steel braid hoses, rotors turned, new or reman everything else including new master cylinder and aluminum drums (turned), and very competent shop doing the work. All done at once so don't know what made the biggest difference. Not bedded yet, but very noticeable improvement. More noticeable at higher speed / harder braking. Did a bunch of tests for fun. Thanks for advice. Will keep distance from cars ahead and watch the cars behind me, so my better brakes don't get me in trouble with texters and tailgaters.
  5. Granny! I have a cheap one for you. No repair. Please....
  6. Best mod (about $2): a potentiometer in the CTS circuit to correct the fuel/air ratio. Engine fires right up and runs pretty well. Second best mod (about $10): headlight relays. It's NICE to have bright lights!
  7. Unfortunately I have to take the car into Edmonton as the local shops won't touch it. 33km one way. As the car is still on it's running gear, I think I will rent a dolly and tow it myself. Sent from my iPizzle ringy dingy device....
  8. "Have I wrecked this?" Yes. Sorry.
  9. Philip, rust isn't an issue in God's country. You KNOW you want to move to Georgia. Great roads, great food, Southern hospitality, and you can drive your Z year 'round.
  10. i just did the ZX distributor upgrade on my early 260z. For a $100 part it made a pretty big difference in performance, especially in the higher RPM range
  11. Damn! What a beautiful car. More pictures are needed to try and figure out your problem.
