  1. Folks, I just wanted to post this video for your enjoyment and reference. I like the sound dearly. I have some ANSA tips I want to put on for looks but for now I'm sticking with this. 2.9L F54/E88 Stage III Schneider cam kit with 10,000rpm springs, etc. Oversize SS valves round top SUs Clifford Research 6-2 jet hot coated header 2.5" exhaust pipe Borla Pro XS SS muffler Engine revs to about 4,500-5,000 rpms. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lldrWxCQNBg&feature=youtu.be
  2. "Okay, I'll bite. What are the tangerines for? Funnel plugs?" It's an homage to Bunny Luv in hazmat's rustoration thread.... I looked for the carrots, but could not find them here.
  3. TomoHawk, Here are the tools of an original item for my Z432. The brack plastic grip of the screw driver could be later one. I have seen a wooden grip for early 1970 Z432 before. That wooden grip could be a suitable for my Z432, this RM Z432 has a brack plastic one though. And the spark plug changer, I have not tried it yet, I am worried about can I use it for S20's deep inside plug? Kats
  4. Might consider doing the notching now while everything is clearly marked. Your piston rings and HG have left you a perfect guide or line to NOT PASS while you are grinding. You can lay the HG on the head and mark a center line for the valve centerline and transfer that to the block. This will show you where the the outer radius or edge of the valve will be. Grinding now before cleaning makes sense too. As far as grinding tools , I used a 60 grit drum sander on a dremmel. It is very controlable and takes material off slowly and smoothly. If it happens to jump around it won't gouge anything like a carbide bit will.
  5. Well..., taking advantage of the unusual good weather here of late, I went ahead and did my R200 diff gear oil change. Was about to order it from Amazon, but I checked around and found a local speed shop called Honest Performance that had it for 15.45 per quart (1.04 cheaper), so went ahead and picked up 2 quarts. $33.83 total with tax. Next, I needed about 3' of clear vinyl or plastic tubing for the refill, so went to Lowes and will looking around their plumbing dept. found a big roll of 1/2" id clear tubing on clearance for 1 dollar. Total for 45' roll with tax ... $1.10 After searching & reading some of the issues with frozen fill plugs, I decided to check on mine the other day. Checked both the diff plugs & the transmission ones. Hit them both with some Kroil penetrating oil and then backed them out 1/2 way and re-tightened. The fill plug was very tight, it is a 17mm square head male plug. My 17mm wrench would not budge it, but a 19mm box end fits perfectly. Still could net get enough leverage working under the car so.... I used a wood block & my extra nissan pantograph jack under the wrench to turn it. Not very pretty but worked great. No room to get a socket in there. The drain plug is 13mm square female, I don't have that special drain plug socket, so I was just careful with a 1/2" drive short extension & breaker bar. Broke free with no issues. Today, I drove the car to warm the gear oil up, and let it drain for an hour. Jacked the front up a bit to get as much of the old oil out as possible. Cleaned the drain plug, put on a little antiseize, and re-installed. Opened the deck area up, removed the spare to gain access to and remove the rubber plug in the tub which allows filling the diff from above instead of pumping it in under the car. Attached my expensive 1/2" clear tubing to my funnel and fed the tubing thru the plug hole and into the diff filler. 3' is more than enough and will also do the transmission from above, under the hood. Leveled the car, poured the Redline in, took about 1.3 quarts, replaced the fill plug, and voila....done. This weekend its on to the transmission with MT-90.
  6. If you're asking me, the bumper (front) is fiberglass, tower brace is the Cusco OS (only one that fits over the RB26) and I bought it from RHDJapan, shipped to the US.
  7. Thanks for the pictures, Kats! I added them to my picture collection of PS30s. I think the prices for early HLS30s HAS gone up - significantly. From what I see, the price of my purchase in 2004 has doubled. And the car sits in storage, pretty much just as I purchased it.
  8. It's because the 240Z is just a cheap sports car and rust bucket from "Datsun," but I won't say that...
  9. Kats you are a craftsman! In contrast, here in Canada we just put cardboard in front of the radiators.... but we are hill-billies and hicks from the sticks (or organic) That is why few car parts are made in Canada but the boxes they come in are cardboard from Canadian trees.
