Z's on BAT and other places collection

It may be the setup from a Saab V4 engine. The NW USA was a hotbed for them years ago with Satch Carlson leading the charge.

Satch Carlson is a name that brings back some good memories. He compared the morning commute on our Portland stretch of I 205 in morning traffic to a F1 qualifying session.

All good info I’ll check into more after work. I sent some pic’s off to an SU carb website as well.

A Saab (Ford Taunus) V4 with quad SUs?

That would be more over-carbed than Carby McCarbface.

Is that the actual on-engine configuration or is it just bolted to a piece of wood according to someone's fantasy?  I think I see some space between the carbs.

This is how I got them, I also contemplated a different arrangement, but the way the linkage is set up and the fuel lines and choke cable it looks like this would be close to the on engine set up. If I knew what they fit onto engine wise I would know the answer to your query.

Love the Rover setup. It would be an awesome swap into a Z.

The carbs you have are different on the manifold side, longer runners. They must be from another manufacturer. Didn’t Jaguar use SUs?

I did learn these SU's are H6 from a Triumph T3/T4 set up. Still no info on the manifold, might be a custom set up. They look very well made not something cobbled together.

Haven’t heard the name Satch Carlson in a very long time. Used to read his column in Autoweek. Also enjoyed his accounts of the AlCan rally.

He vanished from the scene rather suddenly.

Seems he was accused of sexual impropriety involving a student of his.

Yea, I hate to admit, I haven't heard mention of Satch in a very long time.  I also miss Brock and Denise.

He's still around, Satch edits Roundel magazine for the BMW club.
