60 and 65 profile pics please?

Featured Replies

Hi

Has anyone got a pics of pics of 60 and 65 profile tyres on an s30?

I can't work out what profile to go for.  195 60 or 16 for a 14" wheel.

Thanks.

These are 205/60/15. This matches the stock tire height of the original wheels and tires so the speedo should register the correct speed.

Actually 215/60-15 is what matches the original tire/wheel O.D. 205 is slightly less, so the speedo will read slightly higher.

Cheers, Mike

I have the original spare tire for my '71 240. It is a 175HR14, no sidewall size listed. It's my understanding that this tire is pretty much a 175/78/15, but who knows really. Based on that here's how I picked my equivalent wheel/tire size. This is from a tire equivalent calculator on the Discount tire web site;

Here's your tire choice

According to this my 205/60/15 is pretty darn close to the original tire size.

205x60x15.

If your speedo reads wrong because you choose to run a different tire size than original, calibrate the speedometer.IMG_8933.JPG

@moelk, Are you running 205/60/15 and if so did you have to do any speedo calibration for your speedo to show correctly? From your reply this isn't clear.

I'm running 225/60-14 on 6" wide vintage Appliance wheels.

It's the biggest 14" tire that matches OE diameter. They fill in the wells nicely and handle great compared to 195's.

225's on a inch wide wheel? Looks nice, but I can feel that sidewall roll from here!!   :P
