over flow bottles

Featured Replies

did our cars come with a radiator over-flow bottle? if so, where was it? looking for ideas since my car didnt have one when i got it.

thanks all      sb

My 1971 radiator have a hose pointed strait to the ground. It also have metal clips holding the hose down.

I put a universal on the driver's side in front of the radiator.  Works well and prevents messes.

Here's a '76.  The bottle is on the left next to the hood hinge.

wow.... I didn't know that... mine doesn't have one either...

I think that they call them reservoirs.  They work more as charging systems, air blows out but coolant gets sucked back in.  You have to have the right radiator cap for them to work, with two valves, an in and an out.

Dave WM, you might have a Canada car.  Apparently they didn't get them.  Cooling chapter...

California car, cat converter and EGR on my 75. That and the rad is not drilled for the bottom mount stud located on the bracket that the overflow tank mounts to. I do have one to install but the rad outlet is on the wrong side and I would need to drill the sheet metal on the radiator support, not real sure I want to do all that.

I added a slim aluminium overflow can that fit between the radiator tabs

For reference, factory PS30 'Fairlady Z432'/PS30-SB 'Fairlady Z432-R' type coolant overflow bottle and mounting bracket:
