    • 1) Hell yes, the car didn't come from that crap from the factory!
    • 2) Hell no, anythinything that aids in the enjoyment of the car is good!
    • No, it is easy enough to remove. Easly removeable upgrades don't count!
    • no, that is an absolutely necessary addition in many places.
    • Yes, who wants goo all over the glass!
    • Yes, who in their right mind would have tinted the windows in the first place?

Louvers are the better protection against heat 'cause the glass alredy is in the shade. The tinting helps against UV, but after some time in the sun the car nevertheless gets hot inside As far as I remember the first car that had the louvers OEM was the Lamborghini Miura in 1966.

Alfadogs thumbnail doesn't show a louver. The car has a rear engine and air cooling like every "Beetle". By the way, a louver can't stink, maybe the rear engine.

That was the whole point. The original topic was about tinting, and it went offtopic talking about how best to protect the interior of your car from sunlight when the subject of louvres came up. So why not get a 1953 Prototype VW "Beetle" that didn't even have a rear window - NOT like every other Beetle at all. And if you want to get technical, louvres actually refers to a slatted opening, so yes, that Beetle does have louvres. :)

BTW "stinking" is a common English adjective used in sarcasm, meaning "To be of an extremely low or bad quality", e.g. This job stinks.

I don't recall seeing many if any cars at the last Barrett Jackson auction with window tint film applied. Maybe the guys who get $100 grand for a 67 anything know something about window tinting and car values.

Maybe what they know is that most of those $100k 67ish cars will see less than 100 miles a year under their own power and less than a week total in the sunshine...why tint the windows when your enjoyment comes from occasionally rubbing the car with a diaper in the garage and not tooling down the road with UV streaming through the windows.

Don't forget the Barret Jackson list is not about cars or enjoying cars, it is about selling cars.
