I have a fully functional factory original antenna that I''m offering for sell to a fellow Z owner. His car is a 78Z. The problem/question I have is that I don't know what year model my antenna come out of. There are very few distinguishing markings on the exterior of the antenna...only a few numbers. We have concerns that different year model antennas mounted to the car body in different ways, using different brackets. I'll post 3 pictures...2 of my antenna, and one from my 78Z FSM. It definitely seems from these photos that my antenna is not a 78 model, based on the bracket design. I'm just looking for opinions on which year Z my antenna came from...and w…

I am looking into the options for carpet in my 7/1973 240z and have some questions about what was original. My car didn’t have much of the interior when I bought it. It was kind of a husk on the inside. In reading about the carpet options it seems that generally people think the Newark Auto 11-piece kit is the best, followed by their 7-piece kit. Please disabuse me if this assumption if I’m wrong, but it’s what a few days of Google has turned up. I’m also seeing that “some cars” had rubber in place of 4 of the pieces, hence the 7-piece kit. Does this mean not all Zs had the diamond quilted vinyl on the transmission hump? What was happening on the outer edges at …

Hello, Is it possible to pop the radio out by itself? I've undone the 2 bracket bolts on the sides and the faceplate corner screws on the front but it's still solidly in place. Does the whole heater control panel and faceplate have to come off to get the radio out? I'm cleaning up/removing the last of some CB and forward speaker wiring. Thank you.

I pulled the radio out of my 72' for the first time. It had an aftermarket Alpine 80's vintage dual shaft style radio. The previous owner had fabricated an aluminum box to hold the radio. It was just sitting in there. Is there a bracke thtat should be in there to hold the radio? I'm putting in a new Alpine unit that has a standard DIN chassis. Thanks, Pete

Has anyone purchased and installed the ZStore/MSA Vinyl Seat Kit OEM Style Upholstery Restoration Kits (https://www.thezstore.com/page/TZS/CTGY/classic08f01) during 2020? If so, what is your opinion on the similarity of the vinyl grain pattern to the original vinyl that Nissan used? Thanks, Keith

Hi All, I have a 1970 240Z I bought a couple of years ago, and have been (slowly) redoing the interior. I'm not going for concours here, but I do try to get back to as close to 1970 as I can, when there is an option. There are millions of threads on Jute (I think I might have read all of them. Often more than once, but I have a memory leak). I started out with jute from a british roadster site. I didn't order enough, and found some on Amazon a while back. The british stuff was like Kat's yellow/blond color, the amazon stuff looked more like gray/multicolor carpet jute to me. I like the look of the yellow stuff more, but good lord, I hate working with it. If I look at…

Greetings to everyone. My ´72 240Z came without the rear interior trim piece (the one that covers the tail light assemblies from the inside), the rest of the trim pieces are in fair condition. I wasn´t too concerned about it since I plan to install an aftermarket stereo and I´m still deciding if I´ll put a 6x9 speaker panel or go with custom speaker boxes (in that same position, all the way back and aiming at the driver/passenger) but decided to buy a used one while I decide the sound matter. Unfortunately the part´s seller did a very poor job packaging the piece and it arrived broken (see the photos) Since I don´t know right now if the trim will be used or visible afte…

I am recovering my seats and am looking for suggestions on two aspects of the project: 1) What material can be used to replace the clear plastic sheeting sandwiched between the seat cushions and the mechanisms? 2) What is the original finish on the black mechanisms (I have seen some mechanisms finished with a flat and some with a satin)? Thanks, Keith

OK. my 71 is a series 1...all OEM. I am trying to keep it that way but i really like the seats on series 2 and they recline better and easier. I am thinking hard about getting a local pair and installing them. I will keep the original ones though in case i every sell the car. Just wanting anyones viewpoints before i go buy yet again something else. Btw... will 260 or 280 seat identically swap evenly or are 240 seats distinct?

I have a early 71 240z that I'm restoring. Wanting to keep it some what original but having a hard time finding series 1 seats, floor mats and such. Just bought a set of 240z floor mats off the Internet that claimed to be a perfect fit for my 240z, when i got them they looked like a universal matching set of Autozone floor mats. They didn't fit right at all, going to return them.. Anyone know where I can get a perfect fitting set of floor mats that are long and go up part of the floor board firewall like the originals? Seats: I'm torn whether to buy a set of series 1 seats and have them refoamed and covered but then I look at the price to do that and wonder if I shou…

Looks like my horn circuit was on for a while, I have the horns unplugged at the front so I never noticed, looks like it killed the battery for being on for so long.... I think I’m missing some rubber washers/grommets that sit on the plastic guides that allows the ring to move up and down when you tap the horn. I think the part number is 48441-12905 which looks like NLA. Anyone have an alternative, whatever the hardware store has?

Anyone have experience with Spazstix Ultimate Mirror Chrome (https://www.hobbyrecreationproducts.com/collections/spazstix-ultimate-mirror-chrome)? I have an interior trim part that needs a chrome appearance and I am concerned that this paint will not be durable enough to withstand the fingerprint touching. Thanks for your input. Keith
