On the F.I. L28's, the hose from the valve cover to the throttle body boot has an oily residue in it. I believe this to be normal in small amounts but mine has started to back up into, as far upstream, as my AFM. Could this possibly be my valve stem oil seals going bad?

I've heard some people mention that there are bullet connectors on the wires leading to each fuel injector... Can anyone confirm or deny this rumor? I've peeled back my wiring harness a few inches and found nada. I've also felt and squeezed upstream from there and have found nothing that seems like it would be a connector. Has anyone actually seen these beasties with their own two eyes, or is this wishful thinking?

Besides replacing the fuel injectors on my 76, I also need all new connectors. I see some seem to come with plug-in pigtails and some with just bare pigtails: http://compare.ebay.com/like/220774721149?var=lv<yp=AllFixedPriceItemTypes&var=sbar http://www.thezstore.com/page/TZS/PROD/SFC03E/11-3059 My question is regarding the ones with plug-in pigtails, on the injector harness somewhere under the shrink rap covering, are there maching plugs for the connectors which come with plug-in pigtails? Or do I still have to splice the harness and add matching plug-in connectors? Thanks Gary

I need to replace that section of fuel hose on my 76. The problem is that regular fuel line kinks when I make the bend to connect it. Does anyone know where I can get "formed" fuel hose for that section of the fuel system? I did do a forum search first before posting, but none of the threads mentioned where I could get a replcement fuel line for that section. Or is there a way to make it fit without kinking it? Thanks Gary

So I'm giving my AFM the once over before putting it back on and I notice that the air metering vane looks odd... Here's the outlet side with the vane closed: As you open the vane you can see that the bottom edge of the vane is not straight: So I'm guessing that it's not supposed to be that way, and it's bent as the result of a backfire into the intake or something? And simply for posterity, here's a pic from the intake side:

I used 1/2 gallon of muratic acid mixed with 1/2 gallon of water and swished around for about 10 minutes then drained and put 1 box baking soda mixed together with 2 gallons of hot water and swished around then drained. Used a leaf blower to dry up the inside then poured in a quart of acetone and swished and shook for a few minutes then hit it with the leaf blower and an air hose. Poured in a quart of Red Kote and rolled all around and still drained out almost a half of the quart. I'll definitely apply a second coat in a day or so. Worked great and was alot easier than I was expecting.

The PO of my 77 replaced the fuel injectors with aftermarket while he owned the car. I assume that he picked an appropriate replacement, but he was into "more power" and I wouldn't be completely surprised if he substituted something different than original in an attempt to improve performance. Is there any way to check for sure? What do I look for on the aftermarkets? Any way to double check that I have the right injectors for my motor?

Will a pint cover the tank or will it take a quart? It's a '77 but I'm not sure about the capacity. Thanks for any answers.

Here is old data that I collected 5 years ago: "Lab" Notes Pintle Cap affects spray pattern when not fully seated 20 ohm vs 10 ohm vs 0 ohm current limiting shunt affects flow data - Example Experiment:10ohm gives 173cc/min and 0hm gives 178cc/min Filter presence changes pattern shape Back Flow with filter in makes biggest improvement when cleaning a poor flowing injector Cleaning fluid flow rate changes over time (use gas on final calibration test) - Example 177 cc/min with cleaning fluid = 188 cc/min with gas (6.2% increase) Electric Fuel Pump Pressure changes over time and the recirculating fluid temp. increases slightly. Best Cleaning Techni…

I can get these for about the same price. Standard Motor FJ3s off ebay $165 or FJ707Ts from rockauto for $169. I know Fastwoman uses the FJ3s and likes them. Anybody running the 707Ts?
