My car is a 76 280 Z.. I have searched numerous forums regarding rear "sway" or anti-roll bars. The trouble I'm having is that I've been running without one for years now due to my left side sway bar mount being broken off from the body twice.. when I bought the shell it was broken, and I had it re-welded in the stock location, then it broke, so I left it off. Now I'm autocrossing on a regular basis, and think I should be running one. I really like the idea of running the bar behind the rear end, but the only kit i've seen is from arizonazcar.com, and looks like a beautiful piece, but too expensive for me. I've found posts talking about the Suspension Techniques bars…

I bought a 70 240 that the previous owner had installed a Black Dragon Performance Tension/Compression Rod Kit. Does anyone have any experience with this kit? I don't believe it allows the suspension to move properly. Any help would be great.

I replaced my front sway bar bushings and end links yesterday, i have read so many threads suggesting "plenty of grease" or poly bushings will squeak. I failed to follow the directions on the sway bar bushings and applied grease on the inside around bar and out side around mtg bracket. Will i be ok or should i remove the brackets and clean off the grease ?

I'm installing the Tokico lowering spring and strut cartridge insert kit. Am I the only one battling the removal of these F#cking gland nuts! Every thread I read about replacing the cartridges and springs seems to claim its a pretty straight forward job. I can't find a single thread that deals with the gland nuts. I have finished the front end and was sucessful with one side, "after a long and difficult battle", and destroyed the other and had to order a used shock tube assembly from Zbarn. Also, when I managed to get the one nut off the front shock, removing the insert from the shock tube was a whole other problem. I definately don't want to screw up the rears for obviou…

I am looking for new springs and struts for my 1973 240Z. I would like to keep the ride as close to stock as possible but unfortunately stock springs are no longer available. In reading old posts the closest thing I have found to stock is Eibach pro springs with KYB GR2 struts. However, MSA recommends against this combination because the lowered eibach springs will shorten the life span of the GR2's. Can anyone comment on the longevity of the Eibach/GR2 combination?

I have searched for directions on removal of the mustache bar on a '77 280z and found none. All i found are for older 240z's and my bar will not come off using those instructions. Looking at the bar, i thought it would come off easy without having to disassemble the rear suspension and exhaust :disappoin

I noticed that my strut boots are cracked and torn, i plan to replace my struts as soon as the weather allows. Replacement boots carry a very high price for what they are, is it necessary to replace them ?

I ran into this issue while installing the urethane bushing "energy suspension kit". Where the compression rod attaches to the body, or frame, the drivers side is missing the two "retainers things" that keep the bushings in place. They must have completely corroded away. The pic with the red arrow is the good side, and the other pic is the bad side. Any ideas? What options do I have here? I'm sure leaving it like this wont be a good thing. I'm kind of at a dead end here. Thanks for any input.

It is my understanding that the early series 1 tie rods are different than the later ones. If this is true: Are they available somewhere? How do you know if they are shot? Is replacing the boot the same as rebuilding? I am in the middle of the suspension rebuild and want to know if saving these is worth the trouble. Thanks, John

I recently bought a '73Z and it is a blast to drive. I will be replacing all suspension bushings, springs and shocks. The car tracks perfectly straight, but in a turn, the wheel wants to pull back to center pretty hard. Is this a castor adjustment, or just how these cars drive? Thanks for any input or advice.

Does anyone have or know where I can get a good used front left strut for a 71 240z? I destroyed mine trying to remove the old shock cartridge. I have an auto seek AM radio out of my 71 that works fine that I would trade even up for a good strut. I only need the strut, no spring or cartridge or any of the other hardware. I would like it if the strut cartridge was already removed so I don't have to worry about trashing another one. Thanks, Chris.
