I bought a pair of rear struts for my 280z from the local autozone (Sachs) but they don't have the spring perches. I've not removed my old struts yet, but the perches look like part of the strut and not moveable. Am I missing something? Do the Tokico HP struts (HZ3012/HZ3013) come with the perches in place? If so, I'll return what I have to AutoZone, and order some of them. Thanks, Geof

Just had NTB check the alignment this afternoon on my '78. The front looks great, only required a minor adjustment to the passenger side toe. However, the rear wheels are a bit out of spec. I know there's no factory adjustment for the rear, and from what I understand the only adjustment possible is a camber kit. Following are the specs on my rear wheels. Can any of you tire/suspension gurus interpret and/or comment on them? Rear left: Camber: -0.3 Specified Range: -0.1 to 1.5 Toe: 0.44 Specified Range: -0.22 to 0.22 Rear right: Camber: -0.4 Specified Range: -0.1 to 1.5 Toe: 0.24 Specified Range: -0.22 to 0.22 Cross camber: 0.1 Total toe: 0.68 Specified Ran…

I wonder if any of you guys ever tried this kit before? It's been sold in Japan in last 5 years or so. This electric power steering kit bolts right on. I heard that there is no cutting or welding required. Price is around $600 over there. Esprist

I got the toe set on my 72 earlier this summer and was told my rear end was way out of spec. How bad are the following results? It drives fine on the highway and doesn't visibly dog track with the thrust angle differance. I am still running 14" tires so replacement costs arent a big deal at the moment. Also, I seriously doubt if I will put more than a few thousand on them in a year. Thanks Left Front /Right Front Camber -.4 / -1. Caster 2.6 / 3.1 Toe .12 / .16 left Rear / Right Rear Camber -.8 /-1.1 Toe .13 /.47 Total Toe .6 Thrust Angle -.17

Hey guys. Still having the toe in problem with my 280z. Spent all of this past weekend installing new bushings (Poly) springs and shocks on all four corners. Took it to the shop today to get it aligned and was told that there was no change in the toe. The rear toe is 5/8" on both sides (equally). Don't know what the issues is but I'm hoping someone can shed some light. Read the post under this one about wheel alignment and I'm debating using those aftermarket things. Please help as my tires are going to die Jan

Hello all As I keep seeing a lot of chatter about the suspension kit MSA sells (eibach springs and tokico shocks) I decided to give my opinion on them as I just happened to put them on this weekend along with hyper flex bushings. Bushings The bushing were rather disappointing in my opinion for a number of reasons. First off not all the bushings fit. To be honest many of them were too large and required either sanding to fit or required me to use a lathe to make them fit. Once everything was together though I must say I'm rather please with how well they work. They are a bit loud at times but I can live with that. If you plan on using these be prepared for some finangling…

Hey guys. My ball joints on the Z are, well to put it nicely, dead and I require new ones. I found ones at autozone that run for ~$40 a piece. Has anyone ever used these? Jan

Have any of you shopped the GC spring adjusters for a 73 240Z lately? If so where did you find the best price on em? I just want to buy the sleeves and spring collars, will have the springs custom wound locally. Found a set on ebay with springs for $377, so I think I should be able to get them without the springs for around $200. Any advice appriciated, Thanks.

My goal is putting in Eibach progressive springs and Tokico struts. The front end struts were not a problem. Now the rear end is different story. I am following the Haynes manual as my bible. It has me removing the traverse link pivot bolt "lock bolt". I can get the nut and washers off no problem but it sure seems that the bolt is pressed in from the top of the housing. How does one go about removing the "bolt" with a standard set of tools?

Hello all I was forced to drive onto a median earlier this evening. Median is like the little concrete divider. I hit and drove onto it at roughly 35-40mph. The steering wheel is now pointing a bit to the right when the car is going in a straight line. I'm thinking I just messed the hell out of my alignment (as I hit the front left wheel) but what are the chances I did any real damage? I spent a good 30-45 minutes inspecting everything I could with a flashlight. It all looks like it should but its dark and rather difficult to see. Sorry this is rather vague and out of left field but I'm a bit worried I might of broken/bent something important, like the rack or something. …

Hey everyone, I was doing some searching and didn't come up with to many definitive answers. From what I remember when I replaced my ball joints, the seats and the mounts look ok. The only thing that seemed to be messed up was the bump stop (very dry rotted and gritty). Can I reuse these and just use the bump stops I get with my new bushings? I am trying to save as much money as possible and these things aren't cheap. What do you guys think? Thanks, Elliot
