  4. I have learned to anticipate repairing or correcting aftermarket parts before I install them. Some repairs are simple like chasing threads, other more complex like disassembling, cleaning, and reassembling. The fuel level function can be tested before installation, no need to soak it in gasoline. I would guess that it might even be possible to swap parts from an aftermarket assembly over to an OEM sender to get it to function correctly. For the money involved, it might be worth the time. Buy a cheap aftermarket assembly for the parts.

  7. I also checked on Amamaya Japanese sight and they are 1,015.00. The word is out there.
  8. For sale is one L-28 long block. This is the desirable N42/N42 block and head combination. When I needed to build a new engine for my "track day" car, I located and purchased three of these same engine and block combinations (about 10 years ago). The first block we sonic tested accommodated my requirement of an 89 mm bore size, so I didn't need to use either of the remaining two spare engines. These two were removed about 10 years ago from cars which were in the same salvage yard in VA and have been stored inside my garage since. I now need to free up some space in my garage, so I am interested in selling one of these off. I will add pictures to this ad in the next day or two. Price: $700 plus shipping to your location or you can pick it up in Marietta, GA. Questions? Need more info? Just ask. Thanks! Garrett
  9. Welcome to the Zcar world. These are probably the last of the stock they had.

  11. Thanks Mark, my plan is to remove the original sending unit from the tank inspect clean test and install in the new tank. Crazy to think, Nissan can justify such an astronomical price a simple OEM sending unit.
  12. Can you describe you car symptoms? I bought this fan clutch and it aint solving the hesitation once the temp hits 3/4 https://www.totalzparts.com/product/datsun-240z-260z-280z-280zx-engine-cooling-fan-clutch-new-made-in-japan/?srsltid=AfmBOorqLoh_Q70OaVbY33ZwcmzCbYfHbiDxb_eAgjnf4Rlx4LtaLxcpWrM
  13. Jumping in VERY late. I had a similar issue to this and changing to this fanclutch fixed it since it grabs harder than the standard Aisin one.
  14. Before you buy a new sender, submerge your old one in CLR for 24-48 hours. You'll be amazed.
  15. Hi WolfZee, A transaction is in progress. If anything should change, I will let you know.
  16. I reconnected the hose to the number 6 I take runner port, which is where I had it before. Right now I think my brake issues are being caused by air in the system, specifically in the MC. I’ve bless it three times and, even though the pedal is nice and firm when I finish, by the time I get it back on the ground it’s soft again, boost or no boost. I also noticed my rear calipers are getting a sheen of brown so I am going to pull them to be painted since I’m going to have to bleed this thing again anyway.
  17. I purchased one for my 78 and it’s more intricate than a 240 and it works perfectly. I’m very surprised he would say it was hit or miss.
  18. It would be nice if they had those in stock. Matt over there said the aftermarket ones are hit or miss.

  20. I was afraid I'd see a number like that. Maybe I should clean up my old original
  21. Nissan still sells the sending unit, but WOW they have gone up in price. I picked up mine for around $225.00.
  22. I now have a new gas tank from S30 and would like to add a new quality sending unit. Any assistance someone in our group can provide will be greatly appreciated. Cheers. I'd also like to replace the four rubber pads between the body and the tank

  24. Hello, I've received a nice new fuel tank from S30 world. Now I'm looking for a new sending unit for that tank. I also need the four rubber pads that I can't seem to get from Chris at S30. Any direction you can point me will be appreciated
  25. Please let me know if this is available. I am in Cumming, but will be in Marietta Thursday evening. I can pick it up then.

  28. You think the brake issues are related to the balance tube? What are you doing instead for brake vacuum if you aren't using this balance tube?
  29. @Mike This bot is still at it. I hit "report" on this thread and the previous one as well.
  30. Hello everyone. I thought I would make the first post here. I am back in a 240z, again. This is actually the car I learned to drive in 36 years ago. My father bought it new after Vietnam and it was a garaged daily for decades. For a time by brother used it after crashing his 72 but abandoned it for 15 years when he moved out of country. I saved it from being discarded and started to bring it back to what I remember 3 and a half decades ago. Here is a picture with the roll cage out (So I fit) Cheers everyone.
