Still struggling with car at idle after 8 years
Or...don't get in traffic jams. I don't with my '72 just early morning weekend drives on the side streets. This 240z is surely not your daily driver. You still have that Volkswagen you had on pelicanparts.com?

Still struggling with car at idle after 8 years
I guess after reading this, i believe it's time for me to find a compressor and do a leak down test properly as last resort before opening the engine.

To replace or not replace ball joint.
I have no idea what you are talking about, there is no way the ball joint can come apart, it is a enclosed joint. The nut would have to shear off the shaft but even then there would be no catastrophic failure. How can you say someone's life ends if this happens? My question was if I should keep using the original balljoint if it meets all of Nissan's tolerances as @Zed Head said.

240z Engine, 280zx Engine, 280zxt Engine
Looks like the NA 280ZX engine might be 79 or 80. Can't see the cylinder head temperature sensor. But that's USA only, seller might be in Canada or Europe or Australia. N42 block, N47 head, probably. They all look complete. Even the fan belts and motor mounts are still attached. Shipping could be expensive.

Datsun 240Z Ashtray Snuffer Plate Reproduction In Stainless Steel
I ordered one of these plates for one of my ashtrays that was missing one, very nice piece. Quite close to the OEM unit, the only difference I could see is the reproduction is a flat piece, whereas the OEM slotted plate has a small rounded lip around the edge, at least compared to my other ashtray. Both ashtrays are from mid-1971 cars, in that transition period between original series 1 cars and later ones, if that matters. Fitment-wise, the "blade" part sits a little bit lower than the OEM unit per the attached pictures, but overall I'm very happy with the replacement. My ashtray is also missing the spring clip on the outside that I need to figure out now, along with finding a replacement for the pitted chrome rings around the lighter hole. Thanks @Chris Holt for your efforts!

New Fujitsubo Exhaust System to be Released
I have an l26 block, and the header fits no problem at all, even with SU heat shield and return springs. I also have the slightly older exhaust sectiom as I bought the header and exhaust at separate times, and it clears the R200 in my car as well. It is an expensive and awesome exhaust. I like it almost as much as the new S30 World door seals which I find myself wandering into my garage to simply open and close the doors to my absolute satisfaction!

He got back to me late last night (my time in CST). For some reason he had not received my previous email and is not getting notifications from this site so was unaware of the tags in this thread as well as the PMs. Thank you all for helping alert him that I was attempting to get in touch with him, this community is great!

New Fujitsubo Exhaust System to be Released
The latest complete Fujitsubo 'Legalis' twin pipe systems will fit your L26 engine and your Australian market RS30 Datsun 260Z perfectly well. The newest type works with your RS30's R200 differential (earlier systems were only configured to fit cars with R180 & R192 differentials). It will also work well in terms of performance (suiting your triple carb setup) and will sound great. Recommended.

New Fujitsubo Exhaust System to be Released
I asked my Fujitsubo dealer over here in the Netherlands if the exhaust fits the orig. header and he told me NO.. You need the special header.. he said. about 36-3800 euro i find it to much money for some pipes in stainless! Why not ask the dealer, he should know if it fits the L26.. i'm almost sure they will fit because they are made for a L24 and the L26 is a very simular head (E88).

To replace or not replace ball joint.
If there is more than 1 mm of play in the balljoints i would replace them, i believe nissan still have them? just look up the last part number and the dealer has the orig. part.. (If the balljoint comes apart.. someones life ends, would you take that risk?)

Where can i get a 1.1 bar radiator cap for a champion 3 row radiator?
Hi, Last year i bought some different caps also a 1,1 so i guess at a good autoparts store they have 'em.. should be no problem at all! What's wrong with this one? The picture doesn't tell me.. Is 1,1 Bar standard on a Z? my 300zx has 1,2 Bar, i checked that few month's ago. 240/260/280z i don't know can be 1,1 atm/ato/bar.. whatever.. 🙄 Take a look in the serv.manual.

New Fujitsubo Exhaust System to be Released
Hello everyone, I'm new to the forum and appreciate the knowledge shared here. Rather than starting a new thread, I thought I’d add my question here even though I'm a bit late to the conversation (by about six years!). I’m currently rebuilding a right-hand drive 260Z here in Australia and have recently installed a set of triple Weber carburetors. I’m now looking for an exhaust system that will complement this setup both in terms of performance and sound. I came across this Fujitsubo system that seems promising, but I’ve been unable to confirm whether it’s compatible with the L26 engine. Unfortunately, the manufacturer’s website doesn’t provide any specific information for this setup, nor have I found any local references here in Australia. Has anyone here had experience fitting a Fujitsubo system to an L26 with triples? Would love to know if it fits, and whether it’s worth it from a sound and performance perspective. Thanks in advance!

I can’t understand why @Sean Dezart would shy away from any email. The S30 is his livelihood. Don’t care for making assumptions when we don’t have all the facts.

Whatever you're writing in your messages must be something he's avoiding. You seem reasonable and rational on this forum. Any reason he would be avoiding you? Not a good look for him if there's no good reason. Maybe your messages aren't getting through. Never know. This should bring him directly to this thread. Good luck. @Sean Dezart

The price would be helpful if you really want to get rid of them. Plus being able to turn them over with a cheater bar or something to to show they aren't locked up. You sell on ebay, prostore@ix.netcom.com? Kinda' tough selling motors that have been siting for 20 plus years don't you think?

If you haven't got money in deal I'd seriously think about MSA ceramic coated headers. I've got 6to1s on both my cars and very pleased after 10 years of running them with MSAs 2.5" aluminum, I think, to the back bumper. They have other configurations but I like the sound and backpressure of the the 6to1. It's loud but only if you chose. Stay out of it until you get away from neighbors and then who gives a flip. It sounds like a Jake break coming down the small mountains of the Appalachians I have close by. If the guy won't talk to you, it's not going to have a wonderful ending no matter what you pay him. Get out while you can.

If I was trying to sell them I'd supply mileage when removed, how well they ran, and the price. I assume that maybe you're just looking for offers? Good luck.
