IGNORED

It has finally arrived :)

Recommended Posts

Hi there,

for a long time i wanted to have a 240z and those days i found one. normally i am working on english cars so i am quite new to the Z world. It has triple webbers a 3.1L and CR5 speed gearbox with r200 diff. suspension had been fully redone by the previous owner with sway bars front rear illuminas and a coilover conversion with camber plates. Front willwood brakes and the rear discs seem out of a 300zx. It has a motorsport sump from arizona z and some other bits and pieces.

The interior looks quite tired with a missing carpet some broken plastic parts and worn out vinyl.

Already placed some larger orders @ Motorsport Auto / Black Dragon and Arizoa Z. Currently waiting for some touch up paint to begin the work with.

Things that need to be done :

Put in ally 3 row rad ---> done

post-30629-14150829364635_thumb.jpg

Replaced Clutch Master/Salve as both are leaking slightly ---> done

Changed engine oil/gearbox/diff oil ( penrite 20W60/royal purple 75W90 / royal purple 75W90 ) ---> done

Seemed the diff had been in the water in some time of it´s life as the oil that came out had been milky brown. gave it a good flush and refilled it.

wheelbearings rear left/right ---> waiting for parts

tie rod ends front left/right ---> waiting for parts

new control arms front/rear from arizona Z ---> waiting for parts

steering knuckles from arizona Z ---> waiting for parts

have already all the outer ruber and interior parts except for the carpet set doorcards and the new seats. will throw out the original seats and get in some

sparco sprint as with the original ones if you go raound corners fast i am sliding on the seat. will get them redone in this style

Greddy gauge arrived those days to get proper readings of oil/water and oil pressure

oil.bmp

Also on the table is already the AEM wideband lambda just for piece of mind

post-30629-14150829365521_thumb.jpg

will need to get some different brake pads for front and rear as the race pads currently installed

need to warm up a lot. i guess will get some EBC yellow stuff and the problem will be gone.

Suspension also needs some attention as the eibach rates that are currently used are 275F and 250R.

Springs in combination with the coilover conversion are to stiff and to short. I think will order some longer

ones with 225F and 200R as if to soft the illuminas could be made harder if needed. currently running them on

setting one but the car does not feel right.

next will be to get a second muffler in the car. currently running a 3" with a single maganflow muffler at the end.

in idle it is ok but government forces me to quite it down a bit. did 118db at 3500rpm. hopefully the second

magnaflow muffler will bring it down to 110db. i know it is straight through but i like the sound.

as the car is comming from california there is almost zero rust. will touch up anything i find with brunox epoxy

and give the whole car underneath protection with mike sanders and fluid film for piece of mind.

i guess work should be done lately in december to give the carbs a final tune up :)

those are the cars i am normally working on

Hi there!

Another great Z on german roads!

Would you mind to tell me in which part of Germany you live? I'm desperately looking for some decent specialist to take on some work on my Z, including putting some Webbers on her. I live next to Heidelberg.

If you don't mind, just send me a PM.

Seems pretty fast, how much power is the engine making ?

cant tell exactly. would guess from the feel 200+ but wont give it full wot until the carbs are set up properly. have to modify the rear sway bar to fit the new rear suspension and get the geo set up. ordered some speed bleeders those days for the calipers to make life easy. new ebc yellow stuff brake pads are on their way and hankook rs3 waiting in the garage. would be great to get the federal rsr on the car but size is not available in 16" interior is almost pulled out and all the parts will be upholstered. color will be changed to black. new front windscreen will be coming in in 10 weeks time as on backorder.

currently don´t see any light in the tunnel as still to much to do........
