  1. Doesn't look like the one that I have. Mine mounts to the suspension support brackets, not the chassis
  2. Yeah, we're sorry too.
  3. Get a good model. Smith and Wesson makes a good one. Ruger has another fine model also.......and Beretta, Glock, Dan Wesson, etc, etc
  4. Those cars mentioned above were not available in the USA, except the RX7
  5. The thief who observes you leave the car will know what you've done(taken rotor). He just walks to the nearest Autozone & buys one or waits until next time he sees your car and he's be ready to drive your car home. With an immobilizer, he'd have to know it was installed, what circuit it breaks, and where; in order to defeat it. You could make it so that the power to the ditributor AND the power to the fuel pump are disconnected with separate immobilizers (redundancy) With a kill switch he'd have to know it was installed and find it. (which could be easy or hard depending on how cleaver one is when installing it.
  6. Anyone with 5 bucks (cost of a rotor) can still steal your car.
  7. Wouldn't hurt to give it a try. I spoke with her almost two weeks ago when I paid for my recent order, and I reminded her about a picture. She siad she;d "look" for one. I know she has a digicam (she's been kind enough to email some pics of used parts I wanted) so her husband/significant other/neighbor could snap a pic for her. Serously, give her a reminder request for a mugshot.
  8. Immobilizers WILL work on early cars, wether you short the starter to start or not. IF the immobilzer breaks the wire TO the coil (or FROM the coil to the dist), the car isn't going to start without that break being jumped. Additionally, an immobilizer CAN be used to cut power to an electric fuel pump, so that is an option as well. Nothing will stop a determined thief with time to over-ride your deterrant system. All you can do is make your car less attractive to the opportunist thief.
  9. Maybe because it is perceived (by some folks) as a failed model due to it only existing (in the USA) for 1 year. Lack of Flat top carbs, and the addition of EFI *may* be things that the 280Z can count as "improvements" over the 260 (and 73-240Z)
  10. Because this ISN'T Othercars.com , We're about CLASSIC Z CARS Because "many of us" wouldn't want to dilute the focus of the club to include Edsels, Kaisers, Holdens, Yugos, Renaults, etc. (and in my case Z31/32's, R32's, etc either) Because there are PLENTY of other places for people with "other cars" to hang out with people owning similar "other cars". This isn't WALMART!
  11. I thought so also. Can't imagine what is/was "experimental" about it. (Well, maybe is was an experiment in terms of IF the market would accept the car since it no longer lived up to the "legendary SPORTS CAR" that preceded it) I'm ducking for cover now!
  12. Well, Chloe (mwz) comes to mind, but I don't think she's following this thread anymore. A mass PM campaign may be our only hope to encourage her to post. I'm sure there are other people yet to post pics, but I can't think of the names at this moment.
  13. Glad your computer woes are behind you. Fish??? Oh, THAT little thing. I thought is was a hang nail! There now Alfa, don't you feel better now that you've finally revealed the "before" picture that Rick and I have been waiting so patiently for? It wasn't too traumatic, was it? The photo might even get you a date or two. Some women like the outdoor-sportsman type, and with that prize catch to show off...............who knows, you might get luckier than that hang nail, err fish!
  14. American Wankers! :stupid: :stupid: :stupid: :stupid:
  15. Last February, I was searching the B-J site and found that Z car pictured with the $75K sale price was also sold a few years later at a FAR, FAR lower price. Same picture, same SN listed. I called B-J and talked briefly to someone who looked up the transactions and said that he believed the $75K price was a misprint on the site. He would not give me any further info about the car or the sale price. Lot #24 sold in 1995 HLS3015653 Lot #304 sold in 2000 HLS3015653
  16. Geez, two months to ge the computer fixed. Is that the "normal" timeframe for service? I'd be flipping out. Almost sounds like they used your computer to train new technicians or something. Yeah, I wonder where that virus came from. Brisbane, Melbourne, or Sydney. (not funny though)

  19. If I remove all the Ricer stickers from their cars, can I have your Cavallino badge too?
  20. Right. Do you have "just" the badge (Cavallino) or the whole body kit AND the badge?
  21. I was referring to Stephen Blakeney's 280 and his comments about people not recognizing his car. On your 280 zcar, (w/ a GTO kit?) it would be much more likely that the "average idiot" wouldn't know what it was. ( They never cease to disappoint me!) Fewer Ferrari's to "experience/compare to" and the combination of Datsun mechanicals and "Un-Datsun" body panels would throw off many who aren't really into sports cars.
  22. Me either Jeff! !!!!
  23. With SU's you'd want the fuel return line hooked up so (as TomoHawk says) the extra fuel/pressure can bleed off back to the fuel tank. "I" don't know enough about 4 barrel carbs to advise on your set up.
  24. I think Ed is on to something there regarding the E-brake cable adjustment (at the bracket in the center). With new shoes AND new drums, you probably would need to make an adjustment there or the lever might not move away from the teeth on the adjuster wheel of the RWC. Certainly worth a try as it's free and can be "undone" easily.
  25. giving or receiving???? :stupid:
