Not to worry, I'm riding as a passenger with Wayne (wkarnes) and Son. Hoping to maybe find a Z Head who knows SU's from the Bay Area that I can strike a deal with to check out mine so I can get the car on ther road again.

We are planning on arriving at around 9AM to 9:30AM I'll be wearing a Train Engineers hat and a 240Z T Shirt. Hope to see some of you guys!

240Z's destined for the North American market never came with a factory rear bar. Some chassis delivered as 73 models in the US did have the mounts, but there was never a bar supplied in those mounts for US delivery. 240Z's in some other markets around the world DID receive a rear sway bar from the factory.

Hello Lee: I quit buying sellers in foriegn countries after I bought a magazine from a fellow in OZ. It was a "free" magazine when published and I bought it for $3 USD. I enjoyed reading the magazine for the different writing style, adverts and other content. It was interesting to me to experience one of your countries magazines. The seller charged me $11 USD for shipping, plus the $3 winning bid.

As I recall, there is only ONE fusible link on a 73 240Z. It's located almost directly below the battery, and bridges from the Engine compartment wiring harness to the Starter Solenoid. That's all folks!

Thanks Stephen. We really aren't that different (you and I, I believe), but we are not exactly the same and that's OK. I value your opinions even when they are different than mine. (I also value Alfa-Pup's) I have contacted sellers with information, and even with links to substantiate the info, and I've never gotten an appreciative response, so I quit even trying to do that. It is wonderful that we (as a club) are here and ready to help people, all they have to do is ask, we are easy to find and VERY willing to help when asked. (Last post on the subject)

And I won't warn you or anyone else, unless I am invited to give council on a specific transaction. If you (or anyone) asks, I'll give honest council to the best of my ability. Until that time, I won't stick my nose in someone else's business! Keep in mind, we are talking about emailing to people we don't know, and sticking our nose in their business, uninvited AND against eBay policy. We don't know whether the buyer knows the truth about the item, or not; and "he" sure doesn't know if we are knowledgable, or are just nosey, or have another agenda entirely! So, the average furniture (or car/parts) buyer "NEEDS" (or wants) your unsolicited advice on how to purchase furniture (car/parts)? Stand in front of MY furniture store and do that and you'd better have your toothbrush and some soap on a rope with you, cause you'll be arrested if I have anything to say about it. Just my opinion as well.

And why should I believe some unknown (to me) putz who emails me out of the blue, telling me something that I may or may not already know? I would resent someone contacting me (uninvited) and treating me like I don't know what I'm doing. If I want opinions about a transaction I'm involved in, I'd ask for them. Are you advocating standing in front of the furniture store and advising the customers there about their purchase plans? Same thing! Actually, it's a free market attitude. It isn't anyone's business what I do as a buyer or a seller unless I invite you to participate. "Self Indulged" is someone feeling that they have a right to be "Big Brother" to the world at large. This "I know more than you do" attitude" sucks . "Self indulged" is someone thinking that they have a right to interfere with a transaction, or to act like they know what the buyer or seller "doesn't know". Just tad on the arrogant side! You missed me, I ducked!

I'll bet I get tarred and feathered for this one, but..............Who appointed anyone here as the Z Police? It is none our our (the collective "our") business. The buyer has the right to ask us for advice, and "we" then can then advise WHEN INVITED TO DO SO, but beyond that it is not our position to interfere. The buyer should be looking out for his own interest, and the seller certainly (IMHO) has an obligation to be honest and truthful in his advertisment. OK, I'm standing still here.................shoot me!

Hi Alan: I sell very little on eBay, but I am one who specifies US Sales only. I hate to cut some people out of the opportunity to bid, but the reasons that I do so are three fold. First, some international bidders flip out when they find out what our Postal system charges for international shipping and then complain that the seller is ripping them off. I've had that happen twice. Second, for someone who isn't savvy to the requirements in filling out the forms for international shipments, my local post office has required me to step out of the queue to complete new paperwork and then start at the back of the queue again. I ended up spending over an hour and a half at the Post Office trying to ship an item to Australia one time, last year. Lastly, payment can be a problem. I had one person repeatedly send a Money Order in Canadian funds to me. Then he wanted me to declare that the item was a gift so that he wouldn't have to pay taxes on the importation of the "gift". That one really ticked me off. If a potential bidder from another country would contact me prior to bidding and give me the impression that they were not a flakey person and were knowledgable of the extra pitfalls I face to ship internationally and be willing and able to coooperate; I would certainly work with them. What is Auction Magic? Is it something that eBay provides to you or software that you bought or developed yourself? Inquiring minds want to know.

Exactly my feelings, Mark. Oh sure, I'll grumble a bit if I don't win, but at least I can't fall into the trap of overbidding. All in all, this method works well for me

Sniping is the only way to go on eBay. It is foolish to advertize your interest in a item early in the auction causing a run up in the price. Decide what you are willing to pay and watch the auction. If at the end of the auction, the bid is lower than you are willing to pay...........bid appropriately. If it it has already surpassed your price point, well.......you weren't going to win anyway, so move on to another auction. Of course, if it is an auction where I am the seller................bid often and bid HIGH! :stupid:

I was offered something similar a couple of years ago by Ford (I live in CA,USA) I couldn't take them up on it due to work schedule. Sounds like a great idea. Let us know how much fun you have doing this.

Many of the V-Regs sold now days are solid state and not adjustable.

Dinosaur Gear oil usually starts at somewhere around 80/90 weight. (Haven't bought any in a couple of years). I have no experience with synthetics, except that I've been told to only use them IF trhe trans has no leakage problems.
