  1. Go for it Jerry, I hope you win the auction! Is SoCal the king of rust-free 240Zs or what? There sems to be an abundance of them. Arizona is a distant second with some great rust-free specimens, but there aren't nearly as many available.
  2. Mally, Here's the Ebay link to the thread that Mat was referring to with the 7 Zcars: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=130050570434&ru=http%3A%2F%2Fmotors.search.ebay.com%3A80%2F%3Ffrom%3DR40%26satitle%3D130050570434%26fvi%3D1
  3. I think this guy has opened up a big can of worms by listing all 7 cars as a single purchase or 1 car or indivdual parts......He has posted 2 pages of questions and answers for all kinds of stuff!

Vince, Welcome to the club and thank you for your service to our country. Yes, it's a disease....my son and I bought a '72 in February of 2004 and a couple months later bought our '71. But we love it! I agree with Bruce and Dave, your '70 is a low VIN and something that would be great for you to hold on to and restore in the future. Floor pans are relatively inexpensive and if you can find a good auto body welder who is reasonable, it will be well worth the expense. My son and I bought a set of the "Premium" floor pans from Motorsport for our '72 and they turned out great. You can also buy other replacement body parts from Tabco. Just look them up on the Internet. Good luck!
  5. This rust-free Southern California '72 would make a great restoration project: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/1972-Datsun-240Z_W0QQitemZ200051591386QQihZ010QQcategoryZ6187QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem
  6. I agree with you Mark!
  7. Mark, I love your new Porsche!! I have to be completely honest with you guys, I'd take Mark's Porsche over any Z-car, any day! Only thing is, with 4 kids, I can't afford an $80k toy!

Eric, I don't think it was Bob Bush, because the woman told me that the buyer owned a body shop in Golden. As you and Darrel may know, Bob owns a Z-car repair shop in Lakewood and does not do any bodywork on his own (except for some minor stuff on his race car). As far as the 240Z at the Park Meadows Mall, since I just live a few blocks south from Park Meadows and I would be glad to check it out for anyone who is interested in it.

Darrel, No, I didn't buy it, I was too late..... I called the lady who was selling it and she told me that a guy who owns a body shop in Golden bought the car and planned on restoring it. Well, at least it sounds like it went to a good home and is going to be restored by a pro.
  10. Hi Bruce, Here's the link to the thread. Looks like it may have finally been sold since it was removed for a second time at the most recent $1,200.00/obo. http://www.classiczcars.com/forums/showthread.php?t=23140

I am also a repeat buyer of Jim Banner's. He is very fair and straight-forward and will combine shipping at a very reasonable price. I was able to buy all of the new bumper rubber from him for our '71 & '72 Zs except for the rear bumper guard rubber. Does anyone know where you can find those 2 pieces new?
  12. A strange listing indeed. The old listing in Canada is correct in identifying the car as '70 while the new Ebay listing has it as a '71, even thought the pic of the ID plate on the driver's side door jam clearly shows a production date of 4/70 and the VIN #02761. I like to discuss the interesting Ebay listings that involve Zcars or rare Z parts, etc. For those members who don't like the Ebay posts, well, they can choose to ignore them and read other posts that they find interesting.
  13. Here's a set for less (at least at the time of this posting): http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/240Z-Datsun-Eibach-Progressive-Rate-Spring-Set-240-Z_W0QQcmdZViewItemQQcategoryZ33582QQihZ010QQitemZ200045925977QQrdZ1
  14. How about the poor quality plastic used in the dashes, where about 95% of them crack within 5 years after leaving the factory? :stupid:

Here's one listed on Ebay that only has a crack on the side that can't be seen when the door is closed: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/datsun-240z-260z-dash-OEM-like-new-RARE_W0QQcmdZViewItemQQcategoryZ40017QQihZ006QQitemZ160050859523QQrdZ1QQsspagenameZWDVW

Other than the floorpans, it really looks to be a very nice car. Since you own a body shop, it shouldn't cost very much to replace the pans. Heck, I would say that for $5,000.00 you actually got a good deal.....once the pans are replaced, the car is probably going to be worth quite a bit more than what you have in it! :classic:
  17. Saw this on Craig's List here in the Denver area and thought it might be of interest to a member...... I'm not real familiar with these engines, can anyone fill me in as far as horsepower, reliability, etc is concerned? http://denver.craigslist.org/pts/233437039.html

That's nice....put it in the Classifieds, not here.
  19. Motorsport is having a weekend special on the Konig Rewind Graphite 15x7 Wheel Kit (only $450.00): http://www.thezstore.com/page/TZS/PROD/WES/25-1067
  20. Carl, Thank you for your informative response and the link to PPG's refinish page.
  21. Take a look below at this white with the rare blue interior Series I listed on Ebay. The seller states that it was painted with a "2-step process, clear over white". I thought that the 904 White was one of the few 240Z colors that didn't have a clear coat....I know that the 918 Orange did and that's what was done on my '71, but my '72 will be ready for paint in about a month and I need to know for sure. Please advise. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/1971-240Z-2nd-Owner-Completely-Restored_W0QQitemZ300046788110QQihZ020QQcategoryZ6187QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem

This one went for a record $1,411.00 a couple of weeks ago: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&ih=013&sspagename=STRK%3AMEWA%3AIT&viewitem=&item=230038402285&rd=1,1

Motorsport has new ones for around $150.00 each. www.zcarparts.com or 800-633-6331
  24. Yeah, either that or someone got mad at it and used it for target practice! :stupid:
  25. Only a little over 6 hours left and no bids at the time of this post for this No-Reserve '73. Looks like the minimum $300.00 is all that it could take to buy it: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/1973-DATSUN-240-Z-4-SPEED-PARTS-CAR-NO-RESERVE_W0QQcmdZViewItemQQcategoryZ6783QQihZ009QQitemZ190046003508QQrdZ1
