Yeah it was very US biased. Especially when the anouncer said the 240Z came with a 4 speed gearbox. Yeah, only if you were unlucky enough to be living in the USA. The rest of the world got 5 speeds and rear anti sway bars!

Speedo and tacho You dont have to remove the gauges to get to the bulbs. they just clip into the back of the gauges. you can get to the center ones by removing the glovebox.

White faced gauges in a 260z.

I've seen cars that have black surrounds around the tail lights, so they spray the lights with a clear/black tint mix to make them darker to blend into the surrounds when the lights are off. Gives them a custom look, but makes the lights dimmer. I guess if they fitted the led style brighter lights to offset the tinted lights it might be ok.

Try taping them off the TV when the cricket is on. "Overseas model shown" the Ad's say. THey usually put this on because the overseas models look slightly different. Different headlights, or bumpers, but i havent noticed the overseas model looking any different in the Ad's

I paid $4200 for mine. You can have a look at the photos of it in my gallery. To give you an idea of price/condition. Needs rings, so I'm gonna rebuild the engine, and strip and repaint the car. No much rust. What rust it had has been cut and welded.

You can get plastic chrome edgeing that pushes on the edge of the door. It may bend enough for you to be able to use it on the headlight covers. Just a thought.

Hi Gaz. How much clearance hve you got between the sump and the cross member? will you have to modified the sump to get the engine any lower. Sounds like you'll have to modify your engine mounts. Another (more expensive) way to get extra clearance at the top of the engine is to go for an after market intake manifold that points forward, instead of crossing over the top of the engine, though i dont know if/how available they are for the RB30. Would have been written off by the insurance company and on-sold to the auction company that is now trying to sell it, or they are acting on behalf of the insurance company. Still has Beaverton Nissan advertisement plates. Maybe it was a demo model that got wrecked by a salesman or test driver. The back end hit something pretty hard to bend the alignment of the wheel like that. Funny that the airbags never went off though. Or do you guys in the US have a model without air bags? You get 5 different models dont you? We only get the Touring and Track models in Aus.

I think all the 2+2 models are ugly, especially the 280zx. Now if you could get your hands on a 2 seater 280zx. they aren't too bad looking, But were never sold in Australia, neither was the 300ZX 2 seater. I dont mind the look of the Z31. The later revision with the smoother wheel arches. But try and get a 240Z. Seen the new nissan Ad with the sliver 280zx 2 seater doing donuts in a field or carpark? Funny, since they were never sold in australia. Expect the ad to be replaced with one that has a blue Z32 doing donuts in a carpark. I saw it at the launch of the 350Z. There is aslo another 350Z ad in which the 240Z features more prominatly that the other 350Z ad. Alfa, what company you insured with? I might have to give them a call.

Yeah I think that was "SPEED" magazine, maybe the Febuary, or January Issue. They has a story about the 350Z and a side story about the 240Z. The one they had pictures of was a silver one, that had been exported (Returned?) back to japan I believe. With the Law in Japan as they were/are, alot of old cars are sent to the wreckers as scrap, and they just buy another new car. Thats why we get alot of second hand imports here in Oz.

Or you could put a different cam in, and get a bit more power. The holley should be up to it. driveability may suffer. What happend to your twin hitachi's?
