  2. Alan - I think I misunderstood when you said "finer mesh"! I was thinking the actual metal was thinner, not the holes between the metal smaller. :stupid: That makes more sense... I wonder if there was ever any problems with the race cars sucking up bugs/dirt/debri when racing... were most of the other racing cars of this era the same (without filters)?
  3. Refer to the title of the topic!! This guy will go so far as to risk his own life (and his wife's?) to get a new engine. Phew!

Well done Rob! Yes, the C210 badges are very similar. I think perhaps only the export market "DATSUN" badges were all upper-case? Here is the C110 "Skyline" badge for comparison. What date was your car produced Tom? I was actually thinking of your car while posting that! Maybe yours was one of the "crossover" cars (Nissan has been known to produce a few of these in the transition between models to use up all inventory).
  5. This is probably THE most useful resource for your Skyline - http://cgi.ebay.com.au/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&category=418&item=2284006749&rd=1 I am in no way part of this sale, just that I have one and it's fantastic.

I was going to post a new topic about this, but here seems good enough- from pictures I've found there were (at least) 3 different rear panel "SKYLINE" badges. Pictures tell a thousand words. The first is what appears to be the most common, in white text. The second seems to only appear on GT-R's from the pictures I've seen, so either it was GT-R specific or only for very early models - I do not know. It is a bit harder to read with the black text. Later (1975 seems to pop into my head for some reason) the next style came in. This style also appeared in Australia with late-model 240K's except reading "DATSUN" instead. Does anybody have comments, additional info, or corrections?

  9. Yeah 2 1/2 turns isn't it? Make sure your tyre pressure is correct (when the tyres are cold) - makes a huge difference.

Welcome - but excuse me - please remove all that crap off your Roadster!!!!!
  11. You must cut down the mightiest tree in the forest with... a herring!
  12. Ben - to avoid the petrol spilling anywhere you can also just put the filter inside a plastic bag before unplugging it - all petrol will just go BLERH into the bag. Make sure you check your lines too! The hoses on my Z were CLOGGED. Also, make sure to check the filter a week or two after you change it as if there's rust in the tank/lines you'll see it.
  13. Two newschool ones - "smoated", "plastered" (I have never heard half of those )

There are two shades of dark red I really like. Moyest's (more of an orange) and sorry- I forgot the other's handle but he is in the UK and his car has a Supra engine! The car was shipped from Aus.
  15. I think this is a cool (read: gimmicky) website - check it out : http://c6.org/toogle/index.php?phrase=Datsun+240Z

Wow, that car is just how I want mine to end up! Except minus the number and spoiler sticker. I looked for that 240K GL badge and couldn't find it :| I swear I have one...
  17. A GT-R at that! But.. where are the classic Z's! I only see one!
  18. Rob - glad you like the pics, it's a very "pimp" car I think. You can search for "Y34 Cedric" on google image search and there are heaps of more pics... Check out the mean kit the highly famous "Junction Produce" company has available: http://www.junction-produce.co.jp
  19. I see too much yellow! Good vid tho, I love that song but would prefer some engines :devious: next time thanks!
