I just put in a new / used fuse box from ebay wow what a diffrence everything is bright and works , only two things on the car that don't are the front passenger fender running light and the drivers rear back corner side running light . These are the side markers that are screwed in and have a lens and then a chrome piece and then the black rubber gromet. The ones that are not working on mine are very rusty and I was wondering how do the bulds come out? A twist type or a push in and twist or just a push in type < that sounded weird > . I have sprayed some cleaner on it to try and free up the bulb but still quite stuck and suggestions before I damage the marker?
  2. if there are tiny pipes coming up from the exhaust manifold area as I understand correctly , then yes those are emissions, they wouldn't shoot flames out but just sound like a bad exhaust leak , there are probably numerous threads on removing the emissions depends on where you live and the rules for older cars will dictate weither you can , getting a replacement exhaust manifold is very hard and if I were you i would replace it with a header <if you can> , if you look at my gallery the motor shown is a l24 but with the 260 n36 intake so it shows it without any emissions, if you have the flat top carbs you might have issues . good luck

  10. hhm taking your advice
  11. All good advice said but like Daniel I agree that I would be worried someone would break off bolts then tell you later and not really give a crap , I think the money saved the expierence of it < which in a sadistickinda way is fun > and just knowing you did it would make it worth for you to do it yourself , I actually just did the exact same thing but i stripped my motor to just block and head and rebuilt from there , Good luck
  12. I like the lift ideal
  13. hhm I would tap lightly on it side with a rubber mallet or hammer , it sounds just like its stuck with normal engine dirt , but I would be very careful not to hit it hard at all, also spray some gumout or wd40 down at the base , good luck
  14. hhmm hookers don't count? damn well I guess last year just kidding , actually was in a datsun my first time a 510 hatchback the flame orange color was my dads , and then my 2nd car which was a red 240 72 it was repeated broken in , gotta say the hood / fender is such a great height
  15. Also getting new house < new to me atleast > what all does everyone has as in add on's in there garage < lighting , air tools, racks , storage and such > 2 car here now front entrance and rather small but fits one 240 and lots of parts
  16. Ok how do we all store or Z or Z's?
  17. ups guy and fex both know what the boxes are coming for, used to always have the same comments and always seem to have the same ending statement "wish I hadn't sold that car" , my brother has had the same things when he has been filling up his 260 , its kinda nice to know as much as the car brings joy to us who own and drive them , it also brings joy and fond memories to those to have owned them
  18. that was too funny Carl
  19. I say paint it what you want , if the car was an early 70 or a more rare car I might go back original , but in the end I think its really what you think will make you happy when you drive and wash her . And I had a red one when I was younger and mine now is Yellow and was originally lime , might paint mine red , not sure yet , love to see pics after its done:geek:

I personally will watch two toddlers race around the living room on toys if they are entertaining, I love watching F1 and IRL , both have their negitives but F1 is gonna be a victim of its own sucess the amount of money poured into it makes it so competative that every team bitches about each other and what they do wrong and the rules. Love to watch both styles of racing but if you are watching either and expecting the old days of the drivers wearing a leather helmet and racing googles or the track guys dangling the cigarette as he fills the fuel tank in the pits those days are gone. Its all about the money and sponsors. I personally love Trans Am and scca racing still great racing but a bit less rules and guys /ladies racing because they love not because of the paycheck. I think the same thing is happening to nascar <not my fave but will watch instead of basket weaving>. F1 isn't going anywhere but I think racing in the states is not like monaco and it never will be . I love the Wilwood races from England<think thats the name> , love the classics . No Offense you can keep the paddles
  21. replace the sending unit its like 12 -25 bucks and its on the passenger side of the block , start there very common issue , clean the terminals to it as well , good luck
  22. Mark , I was actually in the exact same position about a month ago , ending up replacing the tank with a reline and all new line sfrom the tank to the head , as what was said before check that the pump works fire up the motor but re route the fuel line to an empty jar or another gas tank , just start car by fillng the bowls , that way the pump is working and go from there either back towards the tank or the overflow lines fron the fuel rail or towards the carbs , good luck Jeff
