I am trying to get all the correct pieces for my new 71 and one thing i am missing is the ashtray/ switch unit that sits in the center console above the fuse box, I have several in the garage but unsure which actually goes to the 71 year. Love to see a pic of the correct unit intact so I can hunt for all the right stuff , thanks in advance Jeff

Hey all, I got these wonderful instructions from a very nice guy on ebay when I bought a harness from him a while back. I was wondering if anyone needed a copy they are very thorough and give a detailed list of parts needed , replacement parts, breakdown of the distributor and trouble shooting for the distributor as well as the tach. These are for the install of the stand alone ignition from later z. Its in a acrobat format, 10 pages long and is about 1.5 meg if I am correct. I have Haggerty for both my 71 and 72 , ones value of 9k and the other at 3.5 k and no deductable, and its 147 a year

there is an easy way to solve the problem, George get your favorite c/d or tape , about 11pm or midnight or so go out for a nice spin throught the country or in town which ever you enjoy most , I find myself doing that as often as possible with my new one, it brings back such fond memeories and build new ones , but the memories that I recall are of a 240z I sold and have regreted it for a long time, store it or do what ever but I would never sell mine , either one , funny my brother's 260 was in an accident a while back and they totaled it but he will never sell it , same reason, the great late cool night drive and the looks of envey from those who had z's and sold them and those who never had the pleasure of ownershipof one

they go over the tail light inside portion , I know what they were because one of my dad's old mopars had them , just as Enrique said they were used as shield from debris in the trunk or from people getting thing in and out of the trunk , ususally they are open in the bottom so that water or other things don't catch in there, not sure where those he is selling are from but as we all know its no early z,

Did you want me to scan the info sheets? I can email them on thursday they are very helpful if you know its a ignition issue, just so you know you installed correctly. My tach works correctly as well:)
