To the best of my knowledge, Chester & Herod manufactured carpeting for the first 1800 cars imported into North America. They used a closed loop pile material as per Nissan and used patterns from the rubber floor mats. This according to e-mail correspondence dating back to 2006. Hi. We copied the rubber mats for our pattern but they had 5 prototype demos and they were all different floor. When they (decided) on the one that they would produce, they put a jack behind the passenger seat with a cut out on the rear mat for it & we made 1800 mats that we had to take back & make that cut out for the jack. Those rudder mats is what they (were) going to use until they saw our carpet. We can make rubber mats but carpet comes with padding. We can make wool carpet if you (want) it'. Hi We have the original pattern. The original was loop. We made carpet for the first 1970 Z (1800 cars) that (were) shipped to the U. S. A. We can make the carpet any way and out of any carpet you (want).

Original rubber flooring came on the early USA exports without any jute insulation. Carpeting was added at the port of entry with jute. The front mats probably look like this?
  4. Alan, please post a result if you see it.
  5. Has anyone mentioned this? https://www.ebay.com/itm/134685619600 VIN HLS30-00229
  6. What air filter are you using?
  7. We have discussed that magazine article. It's probably the best independent analysis available. "Interpart" is / was Pete Brock - BRE. This thread made me think of the Maru Z Keikaku Suishin Iinkai films and that NISSAN did aero testing of the chassis.
  8. A core is the galley by which the oil flows through. At first, I noticed a difference between the top brackets. One side mount and another top mount, as you show, Alan. But I see both side and top on the 18 core cooler, so...
  9. I used the template downloads from the site and had the same offset issue. Had to make adjustments to the template just like you illustrated. I used JEGS Quiet Ride sound / heat insulation. It doesn't have foil, though. It was the material most similar to stock. Pretty easy to install. Heat gun and a roller.
  10. It's meant to be display art. It's all full of bling and flash. New looking parts and plated pieces that add lots of reflection. Real zow factor - worth BIG bucks. Bid early and bid large!
  11. Another good point in favor of the Raptor finish. The Raptor finish on my car has a little more texture than what SpeedRoo showed but it's close.
  12. I had my car painted last year with a color tinted Raptor finish underneath. I am very satisfied. Did it for the very reasons DatsunZGuy pointed out.
  13. Yes, I wear a medium and it fits nicely. It'll shrink up in the dryer, I'm afraid. Nice looking shirt.
  14. I just got my t-shirt today. It's very nice; big bold, full chest graphic with a 'Hunzinker' signature on the sleeve. Highly recommended, it's for charity.
  15. Z artwork on BAT. Six piece collection auction for charity. No Reserve: Six-Piece Collection of Original Paintings by Nicolas Hunziker for Charity for sale on BaT Auctions - ending May 17 (Lot #107,455) | Bring a Trailer No way I can afford to bid but I DID but a T-shirt.
  16. You're not missing anything. Someone found a "Hide-A-Key" box on a couple of different cars and thought it was a NISSAN part; which it is not. AND in an unreachable location as 'DatsunZGuy observed.
  17. I think if one looks at Japanese design theory and practical trends in the late 1960's, that which would have influenced the expression of someone like Matsuo san and his colleagues, one would conclude that the S30 project was cutting edge Japanese design.
  18. 143,000 Euros equates to $157,500.
  19. Wilkommen auch! Your point reminds me of years back when little was known about the Vintage Z program causing me to start a conversation and collect research information. It grew to a lengthy conversation and, eventually, I wrote a dissertation about the program. I would love to talk about when the Goertz myth began and by whom. If not for entertainment! We all know it's a myth, that Goertz had little to nothing to do with the design which makes the conversation entertaining to me. Go for it! "hook-nosed aristocrat" Ha, ha, ha, - great!
  20. Fuzzy visors mean only one thing; you're screwed if you can't find the screw. And even if you can, you'll need a fuzzy screw driver or you'll screw the fuzz while you're screwing. I would say screw U to the fuzzy visors.
  21. Yes, I'm watching the pointy tip antenna as well. How about his $500 battery cable?! I know the seller and just sold him a few rare parts for ridiculous money. There's no shame anymore. But don't worry. Your fresh air duct is going to look great.
  22. Mind posting a link for that part? Is that for both sides or just the one? I agree with the gasket. The joint at the body duct needs to be sealed. Oh, never mind, I found it. Wowsers! Expensive

  24. Let's see what he gets for his pointed tip antenna.
