  1. Installed the front zinc centrics calipers. I ditched the stainless lines from the caliper to the coilover tube. Went with traditional lines. No leaks!
  2. Now we need to find out who is making them, talk them into making the correct black and selling them as repops.
  3. Glad they are getting reproduced. Not glad people are scamming others.
  4. Also these https://spokane.craigslist.org/pts/d/datsun-240z-hubcaps-excellent/6484688936.html
  5. Thanks guys. I think it’s a lazy fix. Plenty and plenty of Toyota cores to be had. I just like to have things done correctly. The posi quite is still a stock core (used) but everything else is new and fully tested. I’m sure it’s better then most rebuilds
  6. I don't like helicoils:) It tears up the flange area on the brake line.
  7. The helicoil is installed wrong. I think too deep or something, it ruins the brake line it attaches to. Also I have stainless transfer hoses, which I think I need to clean up the fittings.
  8. So I bought used calipers and had them rebuilt and powder coated professionally. Well my right front caliper wouldn't stop leaking, so I decided to take it apart. Turns out they had used a helicoil to repair some threads without telling me. It wasn't seated correctly, which caused the brake line to leak. The company claims it to be a normal repair, but what else did they half repair or fix? I honestly I don't want anything repaired or half repaired in my brakes system. So I searched for another powder coated version or zinc. Which I found, http://www.centricparts.com/products/calipers posi quiet loaded centrics calipers. They are gorgeous and pretty affordable. Summit and rockauto carry these. Any centric brake caliper with 142 as the starting 3 digits is this repaired this way. The toyota S12+8 non wide versions are 142.44011 and 142.44012. 9. I got my heat shield back from https://www.performancecoatings.com/exhaust-coating I went with glacier black 2000 which is a dark ceramic black that’s good to 2000 degrees. Looks pretty awesome. I will probably do my header in it or another color.
  10. I thought it mounted to the gas tank?
  11. Looks like silvermine runs the cable over the ebrake. I just thought it would have been too tight of a turn in the line.
  12. No on the carbs. I now own 7- Mikuni 44s and 1 narrow 40. Who knows:) I think this is the best I can get for the brake lines.
  13. I got all brake lines attached and ready. Also got the ebrake working. Pretty productive sat morning. Now time to bleed them. Think I should put the line on the other side of the ebrake? It should travel together.
  14. I got my extra intake back from ztherapy. I went with the euro style balance tube. They look great. I think i will have the heat shield ceramic coated in black or maybe silver. Now to decide on them or my collection mikunis. I have some sort of Japanese carb addiction.

Wow, also it should be a crime to not post pictures:)
  17. Want to sell the wat caps? Those are the stock rota caps with custom stickers. They are actually rogue squadron logos from Star Wars.
  18. Got the rears installed, took a lot longer to do than expected. Spindle pins are directional, learned that the hard way. Also used a thin metal putty knife to slip the hub into the arms. The tolerances are very tight. Grease, time and some learning and it went on.
  19. Got the rears ready to install and the fronts hoses all installed. Making progress!
  20. No spacer needed, I believe they even work with stock. I got them through silverminemotors
  21. They are going on. I am using this method from Bill Morgan Fronts should be snugged to 18.1-21.7 ft-lb (2.5-3.0 kg-m) while turning the hub, then back off the nut 60° to align with a cotter pin hole. Starting torque should be 3.47-7.37 in-lb (4.0-8.5 kg-cm).
  22. Finally got my front and rears back from having bearings pressed in. Gosh I love zinc and powder coating. Anyone have a secret for the front hubs. Snug then back out then snug again? Torque?
