electric fan sensor
thats why i put the sensor in the lower hose. if the water going in to the engine is too hot, for whatever reason, i want the fans on.

look on the firewall above the brake booster. the serial # will be stamped there. the serial # will tell you the build date

Gapping a hood properly?
i played with mine for a couple of afternoons and couldn't get everything to line up right. right now it is close enough for the girls i go out with. you can drive yourself crazy

did you measure the pistons and bores? maybe someone bored-honed the cylinders without replacing the pistons, which would result in blow-by past the pistons. just an idea

L24 compression question
sounds like maybe a slightly warped valve, or maybe something embedded in the seat. is the rocker too tight not letting the valve close all the way?

+1 you can also get it in a tub. i use an acid brush to apply it

and, the engine oil is only going to get as cool as the coolant in the radiator.

it is totally dead. i used 3 cans of spray on it yesterday, and 1 on it today to get the remaining hornets. if i had to guess, i would say there might be 100-150 adults in that nest based on what i saw going in and out.

im not very familiar with the early stuff so i cant say. the dash tag matches the firewall and door tag. this guy has so many parts i dont think he can keep track, or if he even cares.
