  1. Awesome! Not thrilled to hear you’re going 302 but to each their own! Looking forward to the build thread.
  2. Pro paint for $5000? Sign me up!
  3. My apologies, I thought they were imported from overseas manufacturing. Glad to hear you are able to produce locally!
  4. The dash is made overseas, not in California... it’s a bulk process not one offs.
  5. Looks fairly good shape to start. It is priced close to its value (as of recent sales) and I would say it should go for around $7500- $8500. A full restoration will cost upwards of $30,000 but a refresh with some basic repairs etc will be like Granny says, a little closer to $12-15,000 (for a non-rotisserie restoration). You could do worse....
  6. Welcome to the forum! And you are fortunate to be in Calgary with some local Zed Experts to help you out... If anyone knows of lonely Zed's, it's this guy... ! ?
  7. My thread has a section on the quarter panel body lines complete with measurements on where they need to be. Starts here, goes on for a while. 1976 280Z Restoration Project https://r.tapatalk.com/shareLink?share_fid=83168&share_tid=50908&share_pid=517933&url=https%3A%2F%2Fwww%2Eclassiczcars%2Ecom%2Findex%2Ephp%3F%2Ftopic%2F50908-1976-280Z-Restoration-Project%2Fpage__view__findpost__p__517933&share_type=t
  8. Paints cheap! Mine was blue and I found red underneath. Now it’s grey..!
  9. The 280Z floor pan frame rails have a compound curve that is hard to duplicate. The passenger side is on a bend in the floor.
  10. So sorry to hear of your Z damage... Strange enough, I was driving back from Calgary last night in my Lincoln MKX doing 120kmh a when a hawk flew into my passenger side mirror! Blew the glass right out of it but left no other damage! My wife needs a new pair of pants but other than that, no real major damage. Sounded like a deer but that’s what happens when two fast objects meet...
  11. Figured it would be!
  12. I agree. Invites a lot of stoopid people to inquire.
  13. Not mine, but it could be a good deal for someone. https://www.kijiji.ca/v-classic-cars/edmonton/1972-datsun-240z/1456835072?utm_campaign=socialbuttons&utm_content=app_ios&utm_medium=social&utm_source=ios_social
  14. More like snowflakes here... soon
  15. I know it can be fixed with reinforcing rods etc, I just don’t think you should have to do that. I prefer the fibreglas versions.
  16. I am hesitant to use urethane on the front air dam due to the flex at high speed. I have seen too many videos of cars on the Hwy with their air dam folded over and the driver oblivious because it looks normal when parked. Plus I like the classic Jag profile of the rounded catfish front end. The BRE cuts a clean profile of the front.
  17. Let me go back and look at my original issue....
  18. My main concern is that without the air dam, I will have a very light front end with the spoiler on the rear.
  19. That’s cool! I’m surprised I hadn’t seen that!
  20. I just realized that the 280Z has a deeper front cowl and more curved lower valance, meaning that stock air dams for the 240Z do not fit! What I am looking for is a spook type look for the 280Z. Not interested in the urethane wraparound style that replace the lower valances. Any ideas from the armchair experts? My front end: The issue with the 240Z style:
