OT - Roadster Show Photos
Thanks for the information Victor. It was at night when I saw the car and the lighting was poor so it could have very well been the color of your car. What are the stickers below the side emblems? Take care

Headlights not working
It's a little hard to tell you since you didn't mention what year your car is. On my 1974 260z, the far left top two fuses are for the headlights. Look at the posts that hold the two fuses and see if they are in good shape. Do all of your other lights work? Other problems could be a bad wire connection or faulty combination switch at the column. To go about fixing these, I am really not sure. All this information is out of my Factory Service manual. Ben

OT - Roadster Show Photos
Thanks for the pictures Victor. I really love the look of these cars. I saw a very nice white on black 2000 roadster today. The Vin was 10,500 or other. Would this be a 1970? Where is your car Victor? I didn't see a picture of your white beaut in the gallery. Anyways, keep these roadster pictures coming. One day I hope to have a 2000 roadster next to my Z in the garage. Ben:)

Factory restored Z
I agree for the most part with what everyone has said here about the "factory restored" cars. They are very nice, but not as accurate as some Z's that I have seen. Why didn't they use the steel wheels? It seems that Nissan almost built these cars thinking that people would use them as daily drivers because they used modern radiators, paint, and if what is correct on the intermittent wipers that Carl pointed out is true, there is another thing pointing to the daily driver idea. I think if somebody wanted a completely period correct factory restored car without doing the restoration, then they should buy one of these cars, get the steel wheels and caps, change the carpets, hoses, add all the other old goodies, and they would have one helluva nice "factory restored" car. I would hate to see one of these cars become a daily driver and get the dings, chips, and dirtyness that comes with frequent driving. Ben

260Z sitting for 20 years
Congradulations and to give you good advice I would need to see some pictures of the car. I hope the mice have not eaten into the wires and such. Take care, Ben

Bad starter?... car will not start
Thanks a lot for the dipstick Carl. You saved me from having to get one off ebay. Chris, thanks a lot for the offfer on the dipstick. Since Carl lives only 15 minutes away from my house it was easier to go through him. I will be checking my battery and getting new battert cables on tuesday. I will tell you guys how everything goes. Factory restored Z
I always thought I noticed the details, but you guys sieze to amaze me. You are correct Vicky, the Z never came from the factory with mag wheels. They came with Steel wheels and wheel trims like your car, with either Toyo or Bridgestone tires. I don't think the door gap is factory.:stupid:

why nobody likes sunroofs?
The sunroof was an aftermarket piece for the s30-series cars. I am not a fan of the sunroof, but I am sure that the overhead light and the cool air when open would probably be nice. Also, I would think that adding a sunroof would also weaken the body a bit.

Factory restored Z
Wait, I change my guess to 16,000. minus 1,500 for the auto.

Factory restored Z
This car seems very nice and the price is fair so far. There is some sagging in the door panels, but the engine bay is very accurate so nice and clean. I wonder what this car will end up selling for? Any guesses? I guess 17,500. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&category=6187&item=2480236974&rd=1

Ten best sports cars of the 70's
I read that article as well. I subcribe to SPI and I think it is a great magazine. No minivan and truck reviews. I also subscribe to Car and Driver, and that is an informative and interesting publication as well, but the cars are not always as interesting. The picture of the orange 240z in this issue is a great shot, but I did not know that it was a photo taken by Nissan.

Bad starter?... car will not start
Thanks a lot Carl. The connection on the battery on the negative side is not great, so I am going to clean the terminals and then tighteten the bolts on the battery cables. I will keep everyone posted. P.S. I am really interested in the dipstick Carl. Thanks Ben

Bad starter?... car will not start
The lights, clock and radio work fine. The amp meter reads straight down the middle.

Bad starter?... car will not start
Oh man, I went to go start my car today and the starter turned very slow and then I attempted to start it again and the starter stopped and now when I turn the key to "start" the starter does not make any sound at all. The only thing I hear is the relay under the dash. I have been reading up on the fusible link, the solenoid, and the starter. And I am not sure which one it could be. I don't have my service manual so I am really hindered. I have an early 1974 260z. Any help on this would be great as I am trying not to spend a lot of money. Where should I look for a new starter if that is the case? p.s. When I was looking around in the engine bay I noticed that I am missing the dipstick. I know that I didn't forget to put it in 2 tanks ago. What could this be from? Do they jump out? Ben:cry:

Poor item description
http://www.classiczcars.com/forums/showthread.php?s=&postid=88767#post88767 According to this thread, it sounds like the 4 barrel carb is inferior to the su's. I have only heard praises about the su's and considering that one of the members here has a Rebello 3ltr that has twin su's and has an output of 285hp speaks for itself. -Ben

coyote
That is really cool that you got a picture of the Coyote. It must have been 5 feet in front of the car. When it walked by it looked at us while just trotting along as nothing was going on. I feel very fortunate to have seen this animal.

Thanks for the compliments. You two both have very nice cars. Maybe someday I can see your GTR replica Lachlan. Australia is on my places to visit one day. Marc, you have the cleanest and all original 280z I have ever seen. I was in awe when you lifted the hood. Everything was oem and spotless.

Hey Marc, that is David (Dreco). You sure got some great shots. Now all we need is for David to post the video footage that he took.
