Can a 240z Horizontal pleated kit fit the 280z seats? I bought this 240z kit very cheap & wanted to put it in my 75 280z. I know that the pleats are different but wanted to know before I try to put them on. If not, I will sell it for $75.00 Dark Brown..BRAND NEW...

  4. I'm in the same boat. I'm not trying to put a whole lot of money in my 75 but I do have plans for it over the long haul...Right now I want to tag it up & start movin. The car is very drivable but I want my Z to look like the ones I see in the various websites & forums.....

I've always loved early model Z's & after another one last summer, I was looking to fix it up. After doing my research & studies, I found that thousands of $$$$ can go into getting my Z like the guys in the Z clubs. That's what I meant by "Too Advanced". I'm only looking to replace things that need replacing & having my Z look presentable. I'm trying to get ahold of a digital camera so I can post a few pics. A scale of 1 to 10, 10 being the best, I'll give my Z a 5 right now. I haven't done anything to it yest except replacing a few parts & interior cosmetics. Rust isn't to bad from what I can see. The floors are still in fair condition. The body is in good condition. I'm having probs right now with getting it to crank. It will after a few turns of the key. Sometimes it will crank & other times I will have to keep turning the key several times. It has a new battery, cables & starter....I'll keep working at it until I get it to crank on the first turn of the key.....

We have a MD Z Club here but those guys are too advanced for me right now. I'm at the beginning stage of my Z. I had a 77 in 89 but I was young & didn't know what I REALLY had then. I bought this one last summer & I hope to get it ready by the end of March. I runs but I didn't want to rush it.
  8. Drilling seems to be what eveyone is telling me, so I guess drilling it is. I just thought that there was a tool or something. Now....I have to find a DRILL!!!!!!!!l...... I guess I can borrow one. Thanks again.....And I will replace the Hex screws with regular ones....
  9. Is the the FF located in the engine bay area? Does anyone know where I can find the See-Thru fuel filters?
  10. Does anyone know how to remove it? I tried yesterday but came across 2 screws that look flat with no head. I'm ready to install my new one & can't get the old one off...2 of the screws a easy to remove but the other 2, I don't have a clue.....
  11. I'm also getting that one from MSA. I'm also keeping my stock manifold. I didn't really want to mess around with my manifold. Might cuase other problems after or during installation. How much HP did you really need anyway. They're already pretty powerful for what their pulling...
  12. Is it me or just that it seems tha ALL of the Z experts that are willing to lend a helping hand are in the Mid West or even more so on the West Coast. I know that the Z mecca in the US is in Cali but damn....I have a Z expert here in the Dc area but his hours of operation are not convient for me at all. 8-6 during the week(I'm at work) and closed on Wknds...He's part of the MD Z Club on my end.....www.zzxdatsun.com.....

  14. If you go higher than 15, like 16 or 17, you would probably have to do some mods/upgrades to your suspension/axle. You would have to change your springs, get better struts, and your tire selection would change as well. Try panasport.com....I would go as high as 15 x7's
  15. Try www.zcarparts.com (MSA) or www.victoriabritish.com. On MSA, you can view the Header/Exhaust system and they have them on sale now. VB & MSA will send you a catalog so you can see all the different kinds of eqmt & accessories they have for your Z.....

  18. Can 280zx or 300ZX seats be placed in a 75 280Z w/o any mods? Just a thought that crossed my mine cuz I 'm thinking of redoing my seats....
  19. If you ask me(and I know you're not asking)the 350Z not a real Z! Only th 240/260/280 a REAL Z's to me. They should bring back our body styles/shape and just upgrade everything else. and I know you're not asking
  20. Rust is your biggest concern other than the trans & engine. For $4000 Would goto ebay.com a win a GOOD prospect there for half the price. This is my opinion, but would rather have a 280Z just because of the upgrades since the 240z. Rust will STILL be a prob though. There are more available parts if needed. BUT IF that 240Z is worth it than talk em down to $3400-3500
  21. One more thing....Before I buy it, did you have to run alot of wires? Was it a direct conect to the battery? How was the wiring as a whole? What size battery & alt do you have or use? I currentl have a 575 in mine.
  22. I was thinking about putting one. Has anyone here had this done? Was it an EZ install. Did you have probs with your car AFTER the install? Did you engine run quieter? I know it's alot og Q's........

I just removed mine about a month ago & it's simple. Just get a socket or wrench and remove the bolts.......It's four on each. Remove & Lift.....
  24. Is this the same thing as a sander? I hear about sandblasting all the time but never asked what it was. If it is a machine of sort, how much would it cost?
