  1. It's like a treasure hunt. Sounds like you are getting close. Let us know when you find it, maybe we all can learn something for the future. 8^)
  2. Is that trash or splatter? Hard to tell but It gets better looking so I'll go with splatter. I like the color.

I can still buy the 240 valve from local Nissan for like $40. The 280s are NLA? That's nucking futs.
  4. That's something I haven't thought about! Do you have good spark as Bob states.
  5. Good call JSM! I'm not remembering how they work exactly, maybe some type ball valve or magnetic but they are a lot more prone to fail than a fuel injector. Wrap some tape or slide two pieces of hose over your clamping tool, vise-grips to keep from cutting into the CSV hose.
  6. Try unplugging the cold start valve. I know it's new but it could be your problem and it's hot enough now that it shouldn't even be active.
  7. We used bigger (I think?) needles for the hvlp spray heads and thinned it with a latex conditioner called Floetrol. Sprayed out good but you could dent it with your fingernail. That's the early stuff. What I've used in the last 10 years dried much harder. Okay, I'm sorry to get off subject and am done reminiscing. Thanks, Cliff.
  8. I remember back in the early 90s when our PPG paint rep said they had come up with waterborne trim paint for homeowners. High gloss trim paint you clean up with water! Smelt just like Windex. Couldn't believe what he was saying back then and now to read this, wow. Whodathunkit, water based automotive paint. Can't wait to read your post on this.
  9. Yes it does. It has a SALVAGE title too. $5,000 max IMO.
  10. Not sure if I've shown you this? If so, sorry but it has really helped me over the years with my '77. Thanks again to @240260280 http://atlanticz.ca/zclub/techtips/ Click on "EFI and FUEL" Another thought that has probably been said before, are you absolutely sure the vacuum hose to the Fuel Pressure Regulator is good and pulling vacuum? 40 year old rubber cracks.
  11. Thank you Charles, looks wonderful! Wish I was there, rain set in here yesterday and it's gonna stay awhile. 8^(
  12. Thanks Phillip!
  13. Are these connected to "The Z Barn" I've heard/read about? Just curious. Cliff
  14. Yeah, please put up some pics! The parking lot of the host hotel, the bar of said hotel at the CZC.C mandatory meetings. Zup, Jim, Bruce are y'all holding court down there or what?
  15. Is the weather going to hold off for you lucky guys in Austin? I've been watching and it looks to be a close call. I remember some parking decks downtown you all might get in if needed. Wipe em down with rain-x.

Same here. Well said Dr Dave.
  17. Here's what I did. Hope something here may help.
  18. I sold one 240 on craigslist and was terrorized with replies and I didn't use my personnel stuff, their reply function. You are a helluva man! Best of luck to get that stuff gone!
  19. What gets me is the use of GD on television and that's one of the 10 commandments but arse or $^!# gets bleeped out? I guess being from the South that bothers me more than others?
  20. The newer needle valves cannot be set upside down. I learned working on that the hard way. Hold them the correct way as installed and blow through the inlet pushing up on the float until your breathe is stopped. Or set up a jar thats about the same circumference as the float bowls and make a mark on the glass. I'm using my phone now and can't provide pics, sorry. I will in the morning though. Google "setting floats 240z classiczcars.com" or "float bowl lids 240z classiczcars.com".
  21. Don't feel bad. I was working on my heater core and water **** valve and got the same.
  22. Sorry I'm a little behind but I did find the threads that should cover all my "Tips" If I can help in any way let me know. Cliff PS, here's some more on cleaning the tank. A lot of reading but it's best to be prepared, acid and the red-kote are time sensitive so get a plan together and write it down. Four empty 5 gallon buckets and some baking soda added to your list.
  23. Real basic run through. Clean it with hardware store muratic acid. Rinse with denatured alcohol. Pour in a quart of red kote tank liner. Let it sit until you can't smell the chemicals, cured. Replace the evap hoses during that week. Reinstall the tank. Google "red kote instructions" and read that to sorta see what to do. Cost me $100 for everything. $50 on chemicals and another $50 for evap hoses and clamps. I already had the plastic retainers you'll need to replace the interior panels in the hatch. $10 from Nissan. Have the part numbers for those too. Takes my local dealership a couple of days to get them. I'll be more thorough with my next post. 8^)
  24. I see that link in my post #30 is unavailable now for some reason. When we went to the waaay better version Mike's got now somethings didn't make it. No big deal I still have all my photos and remember the threads that were most helpful. We're supposed to get some much needed rain on Monday. If so I'll be able to spend some time on my laptop and can, hopefully, put up some helpful info and tips/tricks that helped me out a lot. That is a weekend job and the tank liner should be allowed a week to cure. It's a PITA but if you do it right you'll never have to worry about again. Cliff
  25. I'm about 2.5 hours. Come up with something I can't refuse! "North bound and down, loaded up and truckin'". "Watch ole Datsun runnin' we gone do what pays the easy money"
