My Mecum Purchase - 1972 240Z
Here's the best I could find of the cracked dash repair with low sheen elastomeric sealant. I was thinking it was for sealing commercial glass but after googling it i saw where it's for masonry also. The cracks were above the 3 gauges in the middle.

I'm sure this has been discussed but I must. Is your cold start valve out of the picture?

This fire extinguisher fits perfect in the passenger's bin. It's metal and rechargeable. https://www.lowes.com/pd/first-alert-fire-extinguisher-rechargeable/3057083?cm_mmc=shp-_-c-_-prd-_-rpe-_-google-_-lia-_-173-_-smoke-_-3057083-_-0&kpid&store_code=1640&k_clickID=go_625853472_42756562215_195658873186_aud-305162224742:pla-314310822465_c_9012730&gclid=EAIaIQobChMIu9uyq5ju4QIVGovICh149w2JEAQYASABEgLWw_D_BwE

- gas tank vent line question
Is it carburetors or efi? I know a good informative thread on carb vent lines it's long but has good info and pics.- Calling all engineers
@madkaw is an engineer. Maybe he can help.- Oil filter adapter removal
Don't even tell them the car right off, just run the part number. The youngsters like to argue what your asking for. My experience locally. Next day pick up if they have one close by usually.- 1976 280z engine runs rough then dies, will not idle.
so you actually got the "chicken dinner".- tail lights not working on 75 280Z
You can take a 4 penny finish nail and push the center pins out of those rivets and get the rivet out plus reuse it. You have to find the pin though and that can be tough. Nissan still sales those and there's some good alternatives on ebay.- My Mecum Purchase - 1972 240Z
I had one that the PO had filled in with a low gloss black elastomeric caulk. Like you use to seal commercial windows. It looked pretty darn good to me. I'll try and find a picture when I get my laptop out.- seat spacers
maybe this one, I can't remember if mine reclines or I turn a knob? If it is it looks like p/n 4. https://www.ebay.com/i/273616919573?chn=ps http://www.carpartsmanual.com/datsun/Z-1969-1978/body-240z/seat-slide/type-1-adjuster-seat- Any good places or auctions to find 240z or 280z?
Yes, you stole it! That's a good deal looking at the pictures. I have that in mine plus a years worth of hard work mostly laying on my garage floor.- seat spacers
You'll need to look at the interior section of a FSM for the p/ns, this is what i found with a quick google.com search.- 1977 280z heater hoses
You might find something at zcardepot, https://zcardepot.com/collections/cooling-heating?page=2 Or go to a parts supply and get them to let you look at their preformed heater hoses. You might find the right size with a 180 bend in it and just cut out the 180? Good luck, my heater core valve leaked and I smelt that sweet smell you describe. That turned into a major project I never want to do again.- 240Z vs. Ferrari
All I'm missing from now to 1986 is a plywood wedge shaped box with 4 Pioneer TS6907s, amp and a Nakamichi tape deck. It's definitely nostalgia for me!- 240Z vs. Ferrari
They're still an inexpensive sports car that surpassed all the bars without all the price. I bought a fuel filter from O'reilly's the other day, $3.99 off the shelf.- Any good places or auctions to find 240z or 280z?
Second is do you want to work on one or buy a turn key car. 280s are fuel injected, 240s are carbureted. A fuel injected car as old as ours would need some new parts but the carburated ones just need a good rebuilding of the carbs. No ECU, coolant temp sensor tweak etc. and the carbs are more compatible with a performance cam than an EFI car. My $.02.- 240Z vs. Ferrari
I'd go with the 2020 Corvette.- Swapping to f54/p90
