We'll get him drunk and put HIM in the tub! I'm used to snoring and hairy legs and an occasional fart, I'm laying beside one now.

She who must be obeyed has reduced his killing funds! A few rounds of Siran Wrap would be much cheaper. Good call Wayne! I think you and Captain Obvious plus myself would be a hotels best trio. I would take the bath tub as long as you two promise not to pee in there. Branson or Nashville? Maybe you two will have a/c for our '77s figured out by then?

Thank you for your service from all of us. I can write whatever I want thanks to you guys and girls. If other roads were taken and some turns missed a loud mouth like me would be in a plastic barrel in Turkey. Cliff

Bringing a 1977 Z back life
I think those longer tail pipes are to keep the fumes away from the hatch? I have seen a lot of stained rear bumpers on 280s, matter of fact I see one every time I go down stairs. I'd kick the $^!# of of one every time I walked by it if mine had one. Skinless shins!

Rust Advice 78 280z
Yes I do have their premium 2.5" exhaust. It works great with the header but on the lower 240 with 15" wheels and tires it scrapes coming in and out of my garage. The straight pipe connects to the bent one with those bolt together flanges, that's what barely scrapes. My local muffler guy said he could cut and weld them together for more clearance. I've learned to keep it from scraping until I build up some disposable cash for that small job. My 280 with 16" wheels and tires has plenty of clearance but it rides with stock springs and struts.

Rough idle when cold - Running rich
Weird stuff. I'd go to a local auto parts chain and get a loaner vacuum gauge. Partial from Blue's tech tips https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/50850-no-vacuum-at-throttle-body-ports/?do=findComment&comment=462594

Maybe have your alternator checked out? My Dad swears by that Seafoam stuff. I've never used it so can't say one way or another.

Rust Advice 78 280z
I like the ceramic header from MSA. They really cut down the under hood heat. I have them on both my Zs. You can paint most of your rusted stuff after removing the rust. Pulleys, motor mounts etc. I used a high heat clear satin on my injector hold down plates and a few other no paint parts. Anything you get rust off of will need protecting especially if you use muriatic acid. That stuff is mean but it works great. Neutralize it with baking soda and water until you coat it. It will flash rust in front of your eyes, within minutes literally.

Look through here for the best match. Cantech found it for some D hubcaps. I'm using my phone so can't cut through the post. https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/55558-topy-wheel-tail-light-finisher-and-d-wheel-cover-colour/?do=findComment&comment=496181

Lightweight Flywheels
By the time I get out of my driveway I'm used to the 10lb Tilton I have. I love the light flywheels. Learned that long ago with one on a 2.5 Mercury outboard. Hole shot was unbelievable.

Shifter Noise (with 'new' bearings) & Brake Drum question '78 280Z
That's what I would do too. Take it all apart and look for anything unusual. Those horizontal springs as well as the shoe's small push in the cap springs could be loose.
