  1. Found it.
  2. Seems like I put mine even with the top of the pan and saw how far it went down? Been a few years...
  3. MSA shows one for '79 through '83. No picture and out of stock. https://www.thezstore.com/page/TZS/CTGY/classic14b I've got a ZX one out in my storage building but it's raining and I'd have to drag a bunch of stuff out to get to it. I will go out there when it quits and see if I can find it.
  4. Look at some of these from ACC on ebay. Some are from different companies but have the same part number. https://www.ebay.com/sch/i.html?_from=R40&_sacat=0&_nkw=acc+carpet&selvel=Year%3A1979%2CMake%3ADatsun%2CModel%3A280ZX%2CTrim%3A2%2B2%20Coupe%202-Door%2CSubmodel%3A2%2B2%2CEngine%3A2.8L%202753CC%20l6%20GAS%20SOHC%20Naturally%20Aspirated%2CEngine - Liter_Display%3A2.8L&selcontext=productType%3ACAR_AND_TRUCK%2CpartType%3APARTS%2CqueryType%3ABY_VEHICLE
  5. I'm not far from their headquarters in Anniston Alabama, 30 minute drive. You need me to go rough them up a little? I'll take a 2x4 upside somebody's head. I've been able to buy from their ebay store really cheap prices too. They supply just about all the carpet kits in the States. I hope they get your order right and make you a happy customer. Cliff
  6. My sweeper vane is straight. Your's looks like a U if I'm seeing right. Could be a different afm. It should have a green sticker with that "A****************" whatever number.
  7. Is the eccentric collar on right and still has the backing plate on? I think that's what it's called, the fuel pump's arm rides on it and moves in and out. The cam sprocket first then this thing. Tightn the holly hell out of that bolt too. Don't remember the ft. lbs. number right off but it's way up there.
  8. If I needed one today I'd get this one... https://www.amazon.com/GMB-550-8040-Mechanical-Fuel-Pump/dp/B00P2HS61Q/ref=sr_1_2?keywords=240z&qid=1581097676&refinements=p_36%3A1253494011&s=automotive&sr=1-2 I have a cheap stamped together one from O'Reilly's that has been good for 4 or 5 years.
  9. Have you checked the new refurbished afm's part number to see if it falls in with the OE part? https://www.google.com/search?client=ms-android-americamovil-us-revc&source=android-home&source=hp&ei=9Xo8XpfEJJLt_QbAy7GICQ&q=afm+compatibility+classiczcars.com+&oq=afm+compatibility+classiczcars.com+&gs_l=mobile-gws-wiz-hp.12..33i160j33i299.2114.29364..31045...0.0..0.162.2316.2j17......0....1.......8..41i131j41j41i10j41i160j41i10i275j0i131j0j46j0i10j0i22i30.MEwTgB3wGK4
  10. mine was full of acorns, no kidding. Damn chipmunks!
  11. I got rid of the plastic snorkel. It was full of holes and cracks.
  12. Have you checked the air filter box and the the snorkel to it for varmints nest, food storage?
  13. That sounds more reasonable to me, $31,000.
  14. You may just need a new mechanical pump??? Mine would sputter on hard acceleration and going up steep inclines until I got my floats adjusted properly. Now I try to get it to stumble but it will not. Life is good!
  15. And uh... get you a fire extinguisher if you haven't already! I found a refillable, all metal on at Lowes for around $20. Fits perfect behind the passenger's seat.
  16. For me the reason was the thermostat on the coolant line entering the intake closest to the windshield was stuck open, allowing hot coolant to constantly flow through my carbs. I capped off all the parts associated with it, intakes and the main thermostat housing on the side of the cylinder head. I had to leave that pipe that connects the two intakes, that SOB wouldn't budge! Anyhow my carbs are cold to the touch now and it had absolutely no effect on the driveability of my car. It's 70F outside right now.
  17. Yet he offers "30 day money back guarantee", so he'll refund your money we're to beleive but he just doesn't want the junk back?
  18. Here's all I need to know, "NO RETURNS".
  19. Well there you go! A positive for Al. I'm going to lower my head and back away now.
  20. This is off a '79. Very different it looks like? This one didn't have injector fan over the valve cover.
  21. Don't use California Datsun! Start a new thread asking about complete restoration in or around Sacramento.
  22. There's 4 or 5 guys that restore them on here. I guess finding one close by would be best. @motorman7 seems to be the main one presently. Where are you located, left coast or right?
  23. There's a video on that site. Thank you very much!
  24. That's great! Running at 1,000 is a good spot. Now you can troubleshoot easier. Change the oil if you haven't already and run some clean water through the coolant system. If you loosen the radiator drain and put slow running water hose up top it'll flush out eventually.
  25. You look at motorsports.com, MSA. I'm just starting to get ready to pull of my door card. I've got the small pry thing for the plastic push ins. Do have any tips that might help me since it's fresh on your mind? I would appreciate it. BTW I'm fixing my door opening rod and installing a new mirror. Thanks!
