  1. We share the same transmission code - F4W71A (also known as the "Monkey Motion" shifter). To the best of my knowledge, the rebuild kits for these Type A units are NLA. That's why I have a type B unit from a parts car stashed in my garage in case my unit ever goes out. A very, very long shot might be to identify each of the synchros by P/N and contact your local Nissan dealer to see if they might locate them somewhere. The folks at Courtesy Parts (David and Butch) are good at running down scarce parts if they can be found. Good luck!
  2. Bruce - sorry to hear of the accident but very pleased that you were not injured. Cars can be repaired or replaced, not always that easy with our bodies. I hope all works out well for your ride now that you are getting to enjoy a full power experience. Jim
  3. Looks like a lot ripples in the middle at the back end, likely this work has warped the hood out of it original curvature. You can try working the curve back into it or replace as you mentioned.
  4. Very good point, thanks. Dan, go to the Banzai site and look at decal DE-03. If your carbs linkage matches that image, then that is the decal set for your air filter box.
  5. Check out Banzai for your decals, both emissions and air filter box. When you say "new" air cleaner box, I presume you mean the model with the heat riser tube connected to the snorkel. You indicate you have the earlier one without the snorkel butterfly and no riser tube. I think these models did not have decals but other members might better clarify. http://www.zzxdatsun.com/catDecals.php

  14. View Advert NOS Fairlady 260Z Choke Knob From the parts hoard: a NOS Choke Knob that I've determined is for a Fairlady 260Z. The tiny mounting screw is in the package as is a larger screw - possibly for related bracket. When i could not locate the P/N in the export car parts catalogs I did a general search and found a reference on a Japanese auction site where the guy asking 20,000 Yen ($188 USD) for one!!! This one can be yours for $75 including standard domestic shipping, international shipping extra at actual cost. Payment via PayPal, PM if interested, thanks. 15. Bye-bye VR-1, I see Lucas oil coming to a crankcase near me very soon. Very enlightening study, thanks for posting.
  16. Regarding ZCON, the ZCCA Stock category is a brutally difficult class as Zup and many others have learned. The changes you listed might be difficult to undo and there will possibly be other items that need attention. There is no other stock class available, cars with up to 15 modifications typically compete in the Street Modified class where it is not so much WHAT you did but rather HOW WELL you did it. Your car would likely do very well in this class.

I have these coat hooks in my stash, bought as part of the parts hoard so likely from a Z. No idea as to year and model, any help? Thanks.
  22. View Advert 240Z Sidemarker Light Set Refurbished set of front and rear sidemarker lights for a 240Z. 23. What he said ^^^. It doesn't hurt to put a wee bit of lube (just a film coat) on the barrel clip prior to pushing it thru the sheet metal.
  24. Charles, Yes - I'd like the cap if available, thanks for thinking of me. It would be a better set with the mounting ring and three small screws. I'm going to contact the OP to see if he might pull some other stuff. Jim
