  1. Impressive dyno numbers. I wonder why the HP & Torque curves don't cross at 5,250 RPM? After all, that is the calculation constant.
  2. Autoblog did a nice photo essay of ZCON http://www.autoblog.com/photos/23rd-annual-z-car-convention/#3226545
  3. Nice family photo.
  4. Well this thread has been resurrected by annoying spambot, but at least it was an interesting thread.
  5. Get an attorney.
  6. What kind of sound? If it's a grinding sound it could be a bad tooth on the starter, or worse, a broken tooth on the fly-wheel.
  7. Make sure all of the studs are properly installed & secure. Did you give them new studs to install with the exhaust system?
  8. How's the fuel pressure?
  9. It just may be, but it's $30 less dollars and they'll sell it to you jet-hot coated for $170 more.
  10. No problem. My checks now show the correct house address thanks to you.
  11. As my teenagers say "wait wut?" I didn't know anything about a discount. I must have spent $500 there this year.
  12. It would be interesting to know how a Fairlady Z found itself in the US. Who imported it and who neglected or gave-up on it? Considering the hassle to import this car to the US, and its uniqueness here, I'm surprised to see it in that condition. Every car has a history. How is it that such a rare car has been reduced to a basket case.
  13. A quick check on Wikipedia shows that the L20E made 130HP. Unknown from that site is the rpm that figure is made and what the torque peak is. Now if it had the twin cam 2.0....
  14. Are you changing the carb sync haphazardly or is this during the sync process? If the carbs are out of sync they will display a difference in vacuum (that is what the sync tool checks). Assuming that the carbs are well balanced and there are no vacuum leaks, I'd check the valve clearance. A compression check could be in order as well.
  15. The slotted rims i had "back in the day" were made by American Racing.
  16. What type of fuel delivery does this L20 have?
  17. Not withstanding where this thread is going, it would be interesting to visit the museum.
  18. I look forward to it. The next best thing to driving a Z is talking about Z's.
  19. From the article... “It's the story of Mr. K,” Jordan said. “We're trying to keep it alive.” I'm gonna make popcorn and enjoy the show
  20. Welcome to the east coast. Plan on not driving your Z from the first snow-fall until the rain washes the salt off the road - usually about 4 to 6 months. That's when everything I own (cars, motorcycles and tractor) get taken a part, cleaned and repaired as necessary.
  21. PhotoShop is your friend on this one. Have a look at it with a black hood and black chrome too.
  22. Despite the obvious neglect, that car looks to be in decent condition. Good luck with the restoration. It will be well worth your effort as the 240 is a great car to own and drive.
  23. Nice car. Place a maximum bid and cross your fingers
  24. Not to needlessly add to the thread, but since I was asked, I have driven the 280ZX and 300ZX turbo. I don't like either. The S30 isn't for everyone either. I happen to think it's a great platform.
