  1. Nice idea! When you have a chance, can you take a photo of the Escort core next to the original core?
  2. Take a look at this excerpt from a Singer sewing machine manual from 1949. I thought it would be fun to replace some key words Mad Libs Z-style. Prepare yourself mentally for ___________. Think about what you are going to do. Never approach ______________ with a sigh or lackadaisically. Good results are difficult when indifference dominates. Never try to _____________ with a _____________ full of _______________ or ______________. When there are urgent _________________ , do these first so that your mind is free to enjoy your ______________. When you _____________ , make yourself as ________________ as possible. Put on a clean _____________. Keep a little bag of ___________ near your _______________ to dust your _______________ at intervals. Have your _____________ in order, _____________ and ___________ put on. If you are constantly fearful that a visitor might drop in or your ___________ will come home, and you will not look neatly put together, you will not enjoy your ____________.
  3. Yes looking very good!
  4. Ah, ok I didn't know there was a transmission-side update too. It would be good to get this feedback to MSA. I'm tagging @James@TheZStore to see if we can help them get this part updated.
  5. Yea, it looks like our nightly backup is causing the issue. I'm working on it now.
  6. I don't know much about this short throw shifter, but, something doesn't look right to me in the comparison between the shifters. The old one looks like it has a short length between the pin and the knob where it enters the transmission. Does that work in your installation, or, did you pick up a shifter for a 240z perhaps? There is definitely a difference between the 4-speed and later 5-speed transmissions. If you've done a 5-speed swap you'll know what I'm talking about. I had to modify my shifter to get the 5-speed to work with my '71 240z.
  7. Only advice I have is to steer clear of the cheap-o bargain bin units. These units are typically holding Lithium Ion (or Polymer) batteries and those can catch fire if not designed correctly. Just ask Samsung and Hover Board. I haven't used one yet, but, the marine shops I frequent have a brand called Noco. Looks like a good option and reviews aren't bad. The marine environment is pretty harsh for these kinds of things, so they typically carry good quality items. https://www.amazon.com/NOCO-GB40-UltraSafe-Lithium-Starter/dp/B015TKUPIC/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1482288515&sr=8-2&keywords=noco
  8. This might be a bit more fun.
  9. Here's a great video on what happens when you recycle your used oil filters:
  10. Here you go! I think they clip or screw on to any panel, which can be used on your air dam. Send a picture of your car with them installed, I'd love to see it. https://www.google.com/webhp?sourceid=chrome-instant&rlz=1C5CHFA_enUS540US540&ion=1&espv=2&ie=UTF-8#q=buy+curb+feelers&tbm=shop

  12. Ok, I'll move it. No problem. Looks like an interesting project! I'd love to see how it turns out.
  13. Moved to the classifieds for sale forum...
  14. Exciting!! How are you going to get the motor back to your place? Road trip?
  15. Looks like a great way to pick up a track car for a decent price. Interested to know if it sold..
  16. Wow, $172k restoration. Car is already bid up to nearly $200k. How gorgeous!
  17. You have a photo and price?
  18. Hi @rdefabri. Yes, @Arne is still around but he sold his Z, to a club member in Norway, and purchased a Porsche. He's still an admin on the site and still an important part of our community. And, yes I am still around! I haven't sold out or given up on this place. I'm hoping the club will outlast my lifetime.
  19. I looked at my straps and @Hardway's photo as well. It looks like the ratchet tie down on the U-Haul can be adjusted side to side. See photos. If you rent one of these trailers, definitely check this out before you take a trip. Mine worked out fine, but, it's ideal to have them centered as pointed out by @Captain Obvious.
  20. He didn't supply this part with the sale? It seems a bit fishy to me. Keep us updated about your experience because I have a feeling the brake probably doesn't work or it's seized up. There should be no reason why someone removes it otherwise. Good news is you should be able to find these parts. Mike Sent from my iPad using Classic Zcar Club mobile
  21. Sorry you're having trouble. But, your safest bet is to buy from our recommended suppliers. We have partnered with companies (people) who stand behind their products and have excellent customer service. All of them are regular users on this site as well. 22. Thanks Captain, I just now noticed the ratchets could be slid to the center of the tire! As you pointed out, mine were a bit to the outside. If anyone rents one of these trailers, I highly suggest bringing a can of WD40 to lube up the ratchets. Mine were pretty stiff and (if I had noticed the slide adjustments) it would have been extra difficult to adjust them to center. Not to mention it was 30 degrees in the morning so things were extra stiff. Sent from my iPad using Classic Zcar Club mobile
  23. Oh my, both S30's spun out! Any idea who was racing them? Sent from my iPad using Classic Zcar Club mobile
  24. Good info, do you have a link to the eBay ad ?
