  1. Likely they tore off the bottom half when the car was delivered?
  2. Looks like a receipt for the purchase of a 1977 280z with air conditioning and stereo added. Can't quite read the 3rd item, but, it looks like Coco mats were thrown in at no charge. Something else on the receipt about racing mirrors to be paid when installed or delivered?
  3. Welcome to the club and congrats on the Z!
  4. I already have a good lid, I just need the lower tray part because mine is busted on the corner. It must have happened during the restoration.. If you have one I would appreciate it.
  5. Ugh, that seems to be the going price. There are a few on Ebay for that same price range. I hate buying from Craigslist due to scams but that is exactly what I am looking for. Thanks for the link.
  6. Looks pretty good so far. Has some small bits of rust but for the price it’s not bad. The problem areas you can check will be under the floor mats and in the rear hatch area. Pull up the carpet / jute material and have a look.

Struggling a bit with "performance" options.. I did find some good options for "power" This one means "power/multiplication/record/counter for vehicles" This one is a bit more simple, meaning "power/strong/strain/bear up/exert" And this one is power/exponent

Thanks, I was hoping some of you could help out. I appreciate the feedback because I know definitions can get lost in translation. Essentially, my goal is to repeat the meaning from our slogan "Pride, Performance, Preservation" in the center, and the small symbols show that we are a "Classic Z Car Club" (although I could not find anything for Z). There were about three different symbols that I found when looking for the word pride. I wanted to stay away from the definition meaning arrogance, but, rather I steered toward the pride/respect direction. Here are three symbols for pride (according to the website I've been using to look these up - I'll link the site below). The 1st one means pride/respect, 2nd is pride/squatting with legs outstretched, and 3rd is pride/haughtiness. Ah, I didn't think about human performance versus mechanical object performance.. I'll see if I can find graphics for the ones you recommend. Here are three symbols for protect: I also found other suggestions, here's "guard/protect/defend/obey" and "safeguard/protect" Ah, got it... I can change the order no problem. Here's that link to the website I've been using for the symbols: http://redfinchjapanese.com/?action=kanji_dictionary

And how it looks on a Goshuin page.. ? (wife had me remove the black border around the Z in the middle of the logo.. (gotta love it when you get a 2nd opinion from the lady..)

    And another idea...

Doing a little more messing around... the big kanji says pride, performance, protect. The small ones to the right say old (classic), car, group (club). Kanji is a bit tricky to find the same kind of words with similar meaning..
  12. When I was in Japan a few weeks ago, I visited many temples and shrines with the family. Not only are these places beautiful and historic, they have a wonderful art called Goshuin. The Goshuin is available to anyone with the proper book and willingness to spend the time to wait for a monk or temple representative to create. Each temple/shrine has their own Goshuin design and the intent is to prove that you've paid a visit. The artwork is a combination of a red stamp and handwritten calligraphy. You can read more about Goshuin here: https://livejapan.com/en/in-tokyo/in-pref-tokyo/in-tokyo_train_station/article-a0002402/ Anyway, the reason for my post isn't to inform you about Goshuin, but, I wanted to share some Z car logo's inspired by Goshuin. I had some fun today making a digital version of our logo with the Kanji symbols Pride, Performance, Protect (they didn't seem to have preservation). I'll be looking more into calligraphy in the future because it was very inspiring. Here's my first crack at a digital version using filters and Kanji symbols I found on the Internet.
  13. No problem, thanks for starting a new thread. I'll clean this one up a bit..
  14. I wasn't going to suggest he was lying.. The reason for my comment was to express how frustrating it would be to find these cracks. Especially after a big restoration..
  15. Looks like he signed up in April. We have a lot less spam bots these days due to the sign up conditions, but, there are a few that squeak through. Typically bots sign up with a different set of parameters than this account, so, I'll leave it to the face he's busy and cannot respond right now. @davis23, we have responded to your post. Can you log in and take a look? Thanks bud.. Mike
  16. Just trying to figure out your comment... So, he restored the car and it had no cracks? After leaving it outside one day in the hot sun, he came out to see the new ones from that day?
  17. View Advert Wanted Early Series Ash Tray I'm looking for an early S30 ash tray like the one pictured. Please respond to this ad or send me a PM if you have one that you'd like to sell. Thanks! Mike Advertiser Mike Date 04/20/2019 Price Category Parts Wanted Year 1971 Model 240z
  18. Good buy! I think you officially stole it. If you clean it up and relist it on BAT, you could likely see $20k+ https://bringatrailer.com/datsun/240z/
  19. Where'd you get these front valance parts? I may look at going back to stock so it would be good to have this source. I'd likely go with a BRE front airdam. Have you seen this one? https://www.bre2.net/mm5/merchant.mvc?Screen=PROD&Store_Code=B&Product_Code=020B01&Category_Code=bre_datsun_body_parts

Or just download the microfiche here: https://www.classiczcars.com/files/category/2-microfiche/
  21. Yeah, shame on me for not keeping better track of it. I moved three times since the restoration and I thought for sure it was saved. Maybe with the title somewhere.. I have one more box to dig through..
  22. Mine would be a Porsche 911 Carrera S... ?
  23. Ah, completely forgot to check Banzai.. it looks like he's got just the door plate, which is the only one I need. Sure, I'll let you know what I find. it's a shame the old plate didn't turn up because this is something I'd rather use the original.. ? Appreciate the specification on the punch size. There's one more box I need to look in before taking the plunge -- I'll likely be doing this project over the summer.
  24. Hi all, for some reason the door plate for my car was never found after the restoration. I have the engine plate, but am now looking to replace the door plate. Any of you have experience replacing the plate on your projects? If so, how did you go about stamping the VIN and production date on it? Looks like Zcar Depot has a plate I can buy, but, it doesn't seem to come with the custom stamp. https://zcardepot.com/collections/door-parts/products/data-plate-set-engine-and-year-240z-70-73?variant=19278798422129
