Oh sure... I was loving every minute of it. Roughly half price on everything! But, if that price was doubled... no biggie. But, consider that I'm making US money. What if I was making AUS money? I don't think the salary comparison is double in AUS for the same position. So, anyone living in AUS has to pay a lot of money for a car. Let's say an American moves to AUS and takes a job for roughly the same salary. Suddenly, the budget for a car payment goes from $250/month to $400/month so they can drive the same car! I'm not trying to make anybody feel bad. But, that's something I noticed when I was down there last year. Living in a country like AUS shouldn't cause car prices to double just because of import fees. That's totally outrageous. Our government is totally screwed. I imagine this is a result of a pretty shoddy Australian government as well. Shafting the people they rely on.

Yea, sorry about that. :tapemouth But, I really want to get to the bottom of it. Why are they so expensive down there? They could control the vehicle economy by charging more money for exported vehicles. I've been doing a bit of research and a $20,000 Toyota Rav 4 in US would cost over $30,000 AUD. Does the government have a big control over the price of cars in AUS? PS: I do have to admit that you guys take cars more seriously than most of us Americans. We seem to take a lot of things for granted... that's one of 'em.

I've noticed that prices for cars are expensive even though they aren't considered luxury or sports cars.

Damnit... why the hell are cars soo bloody expensive in AUS? This car sells for $35,000 in the US. What the heck is so different about our countries?

  9. You've got to be kidding! Is this really your story or did you post it from somewhere else? In either case, that is sweet revenge. Too bad the two assholes will never know what really happened.

I also set it up so that new users can't change titles. You must have the following conditions before you can modify your title. They are: 1) Have at least 20 posts 2) Been a member more than 30 days

haha... At one time, we allowed custom titles. The system doesn't seem to 'reset' all the titles to the appropriate setting when I choose that option. For instance, I can turn off custom titles and choose to reset all of them. Either I don't know how to make it work, or, it's a bug in the software. Anyway, I don't remember why we turned off custom titles. I think it was because some users were abusing it. Bonnie has a point, if someone is offended, all they have to do is send me a message and I'll take care of it. So, you can have the customizable titles back again.

Hi guys, I looked into this. The user titles are based on number of posts. Here's the current layout: Infrequent Member (Minimum Posts: 0) Active Member (Minimum Posts: 10) Professional Zcar Nut (Minimum Posts: 50) Now, there is no Senior Member. There might have been a Senior Member at some point, but, that was renamed to Professional Zcar Nut. I think BabiKiller's title was never updated. I do have the option of allowing custom titles (modified by you), but, that is not enabled. Every time the user title thing changes, I am supposed to click "update user titles" and I haven't done that in awhile. I'm going to do it now. We can check Carls title after that.
  14. Now you're really asking for me to roll up my sleeves and do some serious programming! I'm sure it's possible, but, I don't know if I'll get around to it soon. Currently, I'm working on getting the calendar ready to sell. -- M
  15. I can change the options on that block to give me more/less images and use either random or new thumbnails.
  16. Yea, I wanted to hear from the 'modem users'. I'm on broadband and I can't simulate a page like that for everyone. Is it totally frustrating or tolerable at 56k modem speeds?
