  1. Sometimes patina goes a little too far Um-Kay! https://daytona.craigslist.org/pts/d/daytona-beach-datsun-280z/7500099304.html
  2. An unknown start in Japan?
  3. These were recently posted on FB. Seems relevant to the thread.
  4. Yep, still available new from Nissan. I have some used ones but the chrome is not so good.
  5. Wouldn't you be able to use the stock 280 horn pieces?
  6. I have some fan shrouds as well. Just further West.
  7. At least fuses are inexpensive to replace, and if yours are of an unknown age I would suggest replacing them all. Cheap insurance. IMHO. I have seen the price of these and many other parts going up and up. With a limited number of cars and popularity factor that is high, it rings true. Disconnecting the battery is always the safest method, can not go wrong there. I hope your repairs go smoothly.
  8. Not much for Datsun stuff there. I did find this Harada antenna I know it is not from a Z but looks close in size and shape. I tried looking up the part number but did not find much. Anyone seen this one before and know the application? $10 I couldn't pass it up. I also ran across this truck tool kit with a new lug wrench and jack handle, the other part seems to be missing. It did have the paper in there though, and the bag is in good shape. Again $10 I could pass it up.
  9. The ad says Chevy V8, which I thought was amusing given the license plate frame.
  10. I have a few of those too. There are three wires. One ground. One comes from the door pin switch. The other is just 12V to the light so it will come on when you push the lens. If you swap the wires over one at a time you should be fine. You could also pull the fuse, or disconnect the battery if you like.
  11. If you follow the date code : 3C = March 1973 GLWS
  12. That is interesting they won't even let you look at the ad's Mart, @dutchzcarguy Here are a few pic's of the ZX looks like the V8 was too much power for the driver. Old school V8 with a manual transmission.
  13. Just double check your numbers, it should be the same as mine in the picture^^^ Yes it is for sale.
  14. In a nut shell, the early cars had the fuse box / ashtray / lighter all in front of the shifter in the console. These cars had a flip hazard switch in the dash and another hole but it was dash material closed and had no function. This went to some point in later 1971. When the B transmission came out the ash tray was moved to behind the shifter and the dash then got the lighter as well as the flip flasher switch. In 73 there was a change in the flasher switch style. I think all the jute was covered with carpet, but not 100% sure.
  15. This V8 is only $1000. https://offerup.com/item/detail/1404062496?q=datsun&cid=5.1
  16. Camouflage, for the city Karen's / Nancy's
  17. I really only see the one part number for this piece 28890-P7900, should fit all 280ZX from 07/80 through the last 1983 Where did you find the 22590-P7900 number? Here are 2 pic's of mine.
  18. I'll have a look at my 82 and see if I have that still on the car. Your part number threw me off a bit. I found the part number as 28890-P7900 and they should fit all years and models.
  19. I have always liked the Honda 400 four. Super fun bike to ride. RD's were really fun too. I have a 74 550 four cafe'd out
  20. Thanks, as you well know, in Washington there are a lot of rusty cars. The other half has been garaged all this time and are in great shape. An interesting mix of extremes. This lot and five more out of the shot. Plus another 4-5 that are already striped and scraped. I seem to gravitate to the rusty, less expensive ones. Other than my personal car.
  21. Closest area would be Interbay / Magnolia. It did have a Ballard look to it. They were in a car storage lot. I was able to negotiate a good deal on them and factored in the fuel. He told me someone had come and looked at them, I thought that might have been you. I seem to have forgotten to add my pics of them nestled in..... ^^^
  22. These ended up at my place. 12/71 and ?/73 As well as this 5/72 out of Tacoma.
  23. View Advert 280Z AAR Auxilery Air Regulator Valve Used but in working order. It opens when cold as shown in the first picture, then after 12 volts is applied it warms up and closes as seen in the second picture. Body is clean, plug is intact, no cracks. I think this works for the ZX as well. Check you fitment. UNISIN JECS Made in Japan A32-600000 8908A stamped on the unit. Shipping is extra. PayPal accepted. 24. Agreed, initially it would open with the 12V, before the coolant was up to temp, then the heat plate would keep it open for the short intervals of turning the car off say at a store or gas station. I concur that heat would at least test the plate action. I read that Killain would need to be assured that it works electrically. I put 3 in the house last night from the shop to test (low battery though) and see some opened more than others this morning, so even that temp change can tell you something. Ambient outside 50 vs. ambient inside temps 70.
