  1. If you local guys are interested in autocrossing with the PCA at Mather the next day PM me...
  2. Inside the car, underneath the dash. Attached to the heater fan with a fabricated mount. Sorry, no pics at this time. I see you're in Stockton though. The fabricated mount was whipped up really quickly and inexpensively by a shop here in Rancho Cordova. GT Auto, Gary Cook is one of the owners and he is a member here and owns a BRE replica that is pretty much spot on...
  3. Another Newman BSR-ZX shot...

  6. I have the lights. Are you looking for the surrounding part?
  7. I have done it. It was years ago but let me try to recall... I had a broken mast. I bought a new mast from Nissan as they were available then. I extended the mast completely and inserted the plastic gear line into the motor. I applied 12 volts to the motor and it spit it out. I reversed my connection and did it again and it reeled it in. Success. Not too hard.
  8. This is Camel GT vintage judging by the graphic and the vehicles parked along the fence line...
  9. I have also replaced the heater control valve without removing the dash...
  10. Perfect Jeff... I just ordered a bunch.
  11. Just looking for pistons. Not the whole caliper. I realize rebuilt calipers are available, I want mine 'restored' to original. Big difference. But I do need pistons.

The common 'special brands' with higher ZDDP are Brad Penn and Royal Purple... Search LN Engineering for an excellent article on the problem with low zink oils in our older flat tappet cars.
  19. Julio, Pretty sure I'm a little old and that gal in my avatar pic would certainly kill me... But tell her to enjoy her day!
  20. Julio gets a pass... All others, I expect you to show

I guess you could run all ATF for a short period. I am not sure if there would be any deleterious effect. I spoke with some one I trust last night and he was telling me he runs 1/2 Swepco 901 and 1/2 Ford ATF in his transmission and it makes for much easier shifting. You might be over thinking this though, old Datsuns are like old tractors. Abuse, neglect will eventually take its toll but not like other cars. My Porsches are very finicky. The Datsun? Give it hell and it just smiles...
  23. Actually, as soon as the gasket kits get here, I will be caressing those Webers. I plan on pulling them off and apart - sending the bodies out to be soda blasted, sending all the rest of the fuel rails and linkage out to be blasted and painted then put those suckers back together...

Don't worry about it. There are two types but the type is more important to your automatic transmission than it is to your engine. Like I said, just very detergent oil...
