Rebuilding Z calipers
I am rebuilding my 240 Z calipers (yes I know about the Toyota 4x4 conversion but not ready at this time) and would like to know if they can be honed or just cleaned up with emery cloth. Or does anyone know of a good reference on the web?

My 47 year old butt in stock Z seats
I am undecided if I am going to recover and re-foam the stock seats in my 71 240 or if I should go with the Mitata or other seats. So I would like to know from the other +40s out there if their butt, back, et al are ok with stock seats on long trips? Thanks

Headlights on ebay
I checked out the seller rating and 4 of the 6 negitives were about understanding the language. I had asked the seller 2 questions an my last was if the unit was high and low beam. His responce was a follows. "it is for your low beam. if your high and low beam wiring config is the same this set can be also used as high beam" I do not think this seller has a clue about his products. So what I plan to do is contact the buyer in a week or two and see what he thinks about the product and how well it fits the 240, then let the group know. These may be cheap driving lights to hide behind the grill. Owen K

Strut Bar Plans / Specs
Has anyone seen plans or specs for a front or rear strut bar? I ask because by looking they seem simple but the price seem a bit high. I have access to a neigbor that builds hot rods and if I had plans I would build my own. If none are available I will eventualy build my own and post the plans to the group.

Should users log-in to read forums?
I am very new to this whole Z world but very experienced when it comes to using news groups and knowledge bases. You see I am a professional computer geek! So I live on the web and constantly surf for tech info in order to do my job. When I became interested in getting a Z (mid life thing) I started surfing the web for info on the car and found many sites. What I liked about this site was that I could view the forum without giving out my email address and it's wealth of information. I think this site has the potential of becoming the number 1 Z starting point on the net so we (you) need to treat it with care. If and when we get adds lets avoid the pop-up windows, I never look at them I just close them because they wizz me off. I would respond well to a “What is on sale†link on the main page. Also I do not mind sale flyer emails from vendors.

dash
I have a brand new out of the box dash for a 71-72 (it has the indent left of the hazard switch) I am not sure if I want to put it in my car (it came with the car) or sell it to someone that wants a perfect restoration what does the group think?

Strut question
I just got my 71 240 and it needs new struts. I have read all the threads on here and want to know if anyone has used the Gas Ryder struts from Autozone. The reason I ask is two fold 1. I am looking at making it a standard street car. 2. The Gas Ryder struts are only $24.99 for front and $29.99 for the rear. If anyone has any experience with these struts on a Z or other car I would like to know what you think of them.

1971 and Smog parts question
I just got a 1971 240 and was looking at the engine and noticed that it had the air injection system that was not hooked up. Is this standard on a Federal or California 71?
