  1. there are a few of those spoof trailers on YouTube. thxZ
  2. Will- The chocolate Z sounds nteresting, even though it's not what I'd call a "collectable." You'll have to contact the food vendors at the show about the funnel-cakes. I'm sure you'll be getting at least one folder in your goodie bag, but the clipboard and belt buckle seem do-able, given enough development money, or a Z-guy with machining equipment, thxZ
  3. I doubt that seller has 100, or even 30, of those things...
  4. If you went to the Nationals in Daytona and had extra cashalong, what kind of Z Car/Datsun/Nissan Collectibles woul you like to see being sold, like besides the T-shirts you will expect to get in your goodie bag, or the ones they'll probably be selling anyway? Mr. K boblehead? Datsun wall clock? watch? keyfob? What kind of extra-special "little things" would make you happy? thxZ
  5. You guys gotta ee this movir trailer! It says the movie stars Tom Cruise & Nicole Kidman... thxZ
  6. At a local car showm I had a off-duty policeman ask me (unofficially) why I didn't have a license plate in the front. I showed him where the screws were in the bumper and explained that the spacing wasn't the same as the U.S license plates. Maybe your bumper is different than the one I have on my car.The point is relavent, as it is possible to mount a front plate in states where it is required, even though it's not as obvious as on most cars. The most you'd need is a special mounting bracket andto get those two rusted-in screws out of the bumper.
  7. This is a chronic question But there is a way to put the front plate on: The bw/front bumper has a pair of threaded holes that aren't spaces right for U.A. license place because they were put there for the Japanese plates. I haven't confirmed it yet, but I'm pretty sure that you can bolt on a bracket for the U.S.plates there. I put my cheapie plastic bracket on the other side. thxZ
  8. Yeah, but isn't torque usually measured in Newton-meters? Maybe somebody can 'splain that one. And which line is for which? thxZ
  9. The numbers up the left side are for kiloWatts (kW), and the ones up the right side are torque (Newtons.) It's dated 9 March, 2007. that's how I read it.
  10. I always wondered what happened to little Billy! thxZ
  11. DeeZ- Where did you get those numbered clips?
  12. Anybody got one of those flashlights you charge by squeezing the handle to spin a little wheel inside? I got one for the car because it "doesn't need batteries. I did a little test to see how long it'll light, and it didn't hine brightly for too long, so I didn't let it run down completely. pumping the handle gives you a rush of bright light, andit goes dim after a few seconds. I even spent a day charging the battery at red lights with the switch off, and it seemed to do a little better(last longer.) Does anyone know the real poop on these things? How to give the battery a good charge so it'll shine brightly for a while ( and how long) and other care for the thing? Mine was from an eBay seller on Hong Kong, and there was a little instruction for the thing on the box: "slide switch to turn light on." thxZ
  13. You might be right. Either that or the e-brake cable is so stretched that pulling up as far as it will go still isn't enough to apply braking. The rears need a complete service anyways- the PO-d didn't do much but a cheap paint job to sell the car. OTOH, the brake shoes will last forever that way! :lick:
  14. I wish my e-brake worked... It probably just needs adjusting too. How can you tell if the rears are "adjusted?" drive in the rain & hit the brakes? thxZ
  15. IMO, thew smoking ban in the U.S. is the first (albeit small) step to that state of maturity. If people can give p smoking at anytime, then maybe they'll behave outside of those buildings & places too? thxZ
  16. If YOU had a $47,000 Lexus SUV, then YOU'd also have those priviledges that the other guy (person) has (given to themself?) "Americans" have three basic vices that drive everything they do: 1. Vanity: "I DESERVE a $47,000 Lexus SUV" because I make $65,000 a yr. -- or -- " I CAN drive faster than speed limit because I'm a 'safe driver.'" 2. Greed "I WANT a $47,000 Lexus SUV because I got $65,00 a yr job." -- or -- " I NEED to driver over the speed limit because I gotta get to work/Golf/ Restaurant in time. 3. Fear "If I don't get a $47,000 Lexus SUV, my buddies at work will think I'm a wussy." -- or -- If I don't driver over the speed limit, the guy behind me will flash his lights, or I'll be late to work & won't have time for coffee & emails." thxZ
  17. The Vatican came up with these commandments. The goal is to restore the virtue of the automobile as a way to go places, instead of a way to get yourself into trouble, or to bring trouble to others. I believe the goal of this club goes along with the idea. And then there are those people out there that seem to think that a car is a license to be an idiot, break any & every driving law, and even commit crimes in secret or even outright for their own gratification. I think everyone ( even CZCC people) could take a good look at themselves and see where they are lacking, and to revive the spiit of driving as a pastime or enjoyable event, and that we are all out there at some time, so we all need to get along and keep things safe. Or, as we do in Scouting- lead by example. thxZ Link to the article by the International herald Tribune: http://www.iht.com/articles/2007/06/19/news/vat.php The "Drivers' Ten Commandments" as listed by the document are: 1. You shall not kill. 2. The road shall be for you a means of communion between people and not of mortal harm. 3. Courtesy, uprightness and prudence will help you deal with unforeseen events. 4. Be charitable and help your neighbor in need, especially victims of accidents. 5. Cars shall not be for you an expression of power and domination, and an occasion of sin. 6. Charitably convince the young and not so young not to drive when they are not in a fitting condition to do so. 7. Support the families of accident victims. 8. Bring guilty motorists and their victims together, at the appropriate time, so that they can undergo the liberating experience of forgiveness. 9. On the road, protect the more vulnerable party. 10. Feel responsible toward others.
  18. The reason I asked about this issue is to see if the magazine is worth paying the $10 for the article. thxZ
  19. Is anybody familiar with the article in Road & Track Magazine, March 1977, that tests the 5-speed 280Z? I saw one at a car show/flea market, and it will probably still be there on Friday. It's not a 78 280Z, but it's mostly the same car. thxZ
  20. I was looking for some movie clips, and found this page: http://movies.yahoo.com/movie/preview/1808406003 It has some interesting information on the move that imdb.com doesn't. thxZ
  21. You might want to look onto plasma coating them with aluminum. Hot rodders do this to headers. It comes out kinda shiny. thxZ
  22. You could de-rust them electrolytically, using your battery charger & some household laundry chemicals. Use the search feature. Then a little scuffing & paint.
  23. With all due respect to MSA, maybe someone could take measurements or make a template of the MSA speaker panel ( or one they made) , and scan it for others to try? I know that several people have made their own, so why not share the design? The reason I chose not to use a spaker panel is because I can't see how you get to the taillight bulbs and a couple other things. thxZ
  24. No, but the hot coffee can spill on your leg, or the soccer ball or toy can get in the way of the pedals and you could get in a collision with something.
  25. Is it difficult to get to the spare tire? Did nyone notice that the luggage straps are missing? thxZ
