Carter rotary pump
If you go into the Carb section (Mikuni) you will find lots of info - I would install one of these without a doubt just in case. Mounted my switch on the fire wall below the wiper switch. I did not pull the power from the pre ran wiring. Just in case I were to have an accident I wanted the power cut from the pump immediately! The Carter pump in a little loud at idle inside the car - but as soon as you go you can't hear it due to the music from the Mikuni's. Anymore I don't even listen to the radio - exhaust tone is the best! Google Image Result for http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/thumb/5/5e/InertialSwitch.jpg/220px-InertialSwitch.jpg

[2013] What did you do to/with your Z today?
Mine is in the garage for the winter - wheels off - on 4 jack stands - getting ready to clean - paint - polish things. It's my second favorite time of the year...............naturally my first is the driving season! There are only 2 seasons per year, right? One is driving - and the other modding / polishing/ cleaning!

Kinda doubt this guy will even get his starting bid.

Coating brake calipers and rotors/drums
Just coordinated with the guys at G2. I gave them the PPG paint info for Red 110 for their custom color scheme if anybody wants to match their 110 body with their brake calipers.

Media blasting cost?
You could buy a 2 stage compressor - media blaster - nice quality sand and knock it out yourself for the upper end of that budget.

Stumped in New Mexico
Did you get the correct coil? Have you reverted back to points to see if the Pertronix could be faulty? Sounds like it was running before the Pertronix and now it's not. Keep digging - you'll find the culprit.

Final Drive - Done For The Season
It's snowing outside as I type - It's 17 degrees outside with the wind blowing 20+ MPH. I'm done for the year as well as the DOT salted the roads heavy today. Getting ready for winter projects after Christmas..............now the TV is rolling a Winter Storm Warning for my neck of the woods.

Air Horn Filters
Chris - Have you dyno'd yet - if you do let us know how they perform on and off - see if they make a difference. Do you have an AFR sensor? I have put my car up for the winter due to salt - if you still have yours out and know your stats let us know if these filters change anything
- What have I gotten into?

Recommended vendor for S30 Electrical Connectors
Windshield wiper connection at the firewall is a must. Did mine a couple years back and now it looks brand new. Keep everything color coded and matching and it's easy as pie

Air Horn Filters
Chris - Great info and pic's. I'll grab a set of these on ebay and run with. My car only travels in great weather for maybe 2000 miles yearly. I'll keep my screens but for my annual trip with my son in our Z's this filter will be perfect - easy on and easy off.

Air Horn Filters
Chris Can you see any sunlight if held up to the sky on those? How dense are they? Did you order the 40 or 45 DCOE size? Thanks for the pic's. This may be the way I go on longer trips.

Original color repaint advice (Purists please chime in !)
Mine is Nissan 110 Persimmon red - light red/orange. It changes colors based on the light the car is under - bright sun brings out the orange - if it is a hazy day more on the red side. I wasn't sure if I would like it originally but now I wouldn't have it any other way. Tons of compliments anywhere I go on the car and the color.

Original color repaint advice (Purists please chime in !)
There is an important question here - are you working on this car to keep it - or - somewhere down the road you are planning to sell it for an investment? If you are keeping it since you have owned it since 1983 then do it the way you want to - if you are planning on selling it as an investment (I doubt this is the case seeing how you spent the $ on the body and paint - and the car is not worth that kind of money - much like mine) then make it the way you want it - be happy and enjoy every minute!

Air Horn Filters
Chris This may be the best route to take - I'm thinking seriously about one. I really like my horns showing, and the air flow around them but the micro dust is not very healthy for my engine. Air Boxes
