I'm using a vacuum pump......I keep bleeding and bleeding...some fluid...mostly air.....it just doesn't seem to pull pure fluid. I do have a fairly firm brake pedal, but still sucking mostly air from the rear passenger side. I'll keep trying.

Sure will.....I'm working on buying a race car right now. Better than tracking a nice car!

I'm bleeding my brakes. The whole system is dry (no fluid in the system). I bench bled the MC and hooked up all the lines. I've been pumping on the system for an hour and still getting mostly air. Is this normal? How long does it take? Thanks. Guy

I know you can still get the .040 over pistons with valve reliefs from Nissan (73 pistons), but you'll need to have a machine shop take off .025 inches as they come out of the block by .025 inches. You can also get the Nissan rings for that piston. Well worth the hassle to have factory pistons IMO.

Added the L24 rods topped with .040 over L28 flat-top pistons this morning.

Thanks for the pics Rich....you win Brandon ( on the paint ) and Tom.......I really want to see your Porsches ( I've had 3 of those sweethearts myself ) and I really think you'll regret not buying the Z you looked at if you don't......hoods are easy and a slave cylinder only takes 15 minutes. Believe me the PO never drove it in the rain!

Rich.....Could you attach a pic of the entire blacked out area since yours is original......I'm trying to figure out if Nissan brushed it on or sprayed it and the exact borders.Tom.....One of the cars that I had done in the past was a 67 912 in red. You can have some rub issues with that tire......they do look good though. I think the perfect tire is the 205-55-16. IMO

I've done it.......started in February......just finished ( one ). Call Courtesy Nissan .....they surely should be able to source some. If not, take some .170 or .180's to your machine shop......they shouldn't charge too much. Guy

You'd do better to buy a .170 and sand it down. Use 320 emery paper on a glass or marble base to keep it perfectly flat. It takes a while to take off .010. Guy

Thanks OZ......by the way, what gasket did you use on your 71 with the N42 block and P90 head? Did you use an N42 head gasket or a P79 head gasket? You basically have the same combo as mine and I wasn't sure which gasket to use. Guy

Blue....Nissan still has the wire mesh.....I just got some shiny new ones!
