  1. Was the number 1 lobe the one that wiped before? Looks like lack of oil. Did you put a new oil bar or use the old one?
  2. Good choice.......I never wanted to say anything, but that was the only thing I didn't like about your car. Now it's perfect!
  3. Lee.....Rich's post 184 clearly shows the lower radiator bracket was not blacked out.Carl Beck's pics that he e mailed me also shows the lower bracket is not blacked out. See post 184 for reference. Guy
  4. Here is a photo of the one from my old 510 s. I pulled it all over town ......John Coffey is right.....the existing brackets and mounting points are tough!
  5. I towed a 510 with a tow bar hooked to the front bumper brackets......it towed perfect. Remove the front bumper and bolt the tow bar to the brackets. It'll tow like a dream. BAP Geon (local parts store) sells tow bars that are adjustable.
  6. Zedy......Did you get rid of a pinstripe on your car?
  7. Mark....PM sent....Guy

If you want knowledgable sales people, call MSA. Black Dragon sells mostly good stuff, but every once in a while you'll get a Taiwan or Korean product.....theit sales people won't be able to tell you which is which.

I always buy Nissan when available. The windshield seal is still available......I just installed one in my 71 resto. Perfect fit.
  10. Black Dragon sells them......or used to.
  11. It changes everything.......you'll need a different clutch and pressure plate (for the 240mm flywheel)and a clutch collar to work with the turbo (2 plus 2) clutch. Don't use the turbo clutch IMO unless you've got over 250 h.p........ The juice ain't worth the squeeze!
  12. "I don't drink often, but when I drink, I drink often!"
  13. Democracy is in trouble when "The number of people who work for a living are outnumbered by the number of people who vote for a living".
  14. I had an E31 with exactly the same problem in number 6. It was caused by electrolysis. A reputable shop can fix it for $50.00 to $75.00.
  15. Don't forget to check and see if your choke mechanism is hanging up after using your chokes to start the car. This is very common and the car will stumble if one carb or the other fails to pop back in. If it stumbles, reach your hand under to where the adjustment wheel is and push up. If it's stuck down, you'll hear a distinct snap when it pops back in. This could have been your problem in the first place and you fixed it by accident.
  16. I agree. There's a small weep hole dead center under the front of the water pump. Put your finger under the pump and see if it's damp after driving. The drip would "hit the fan" and sling the coolant to the side.
  17. .........then balance the front to rear linkage at 3,000 rpm with the uni-syn.
  18. You betcha! That hole cost me more than the lift. The lift is absolutely awesome......anyone considering one should just do it! It's not a skylight though.....those are 3 florescent light fixtures up there.
  19. Thanks CW240Z...... <a href="http://www.flickr.com/photos/14049800@N00/5162398454/" title="IMG_7341 by RVAE34, on Flickr"><img src="http://farm2.static.flickr.com/1383/5162398454_2b38e2112d_z.jpg" width="640" height="427" alt="IMG_7341" /></a> <a href="http://www.flickr.com/photos/14049800@N00/5162397140/" title="IMG_7311 by RVAE34, on Flickr"><img src="http://farm5.static.flickr.com/4090/5162397140_5939bacf55_z.jpg" width="640" height="427" alt="IMG_7311" /></a>
  20. Problem was the gauge itself. Plugged a new gauge in and it worked perfect. Thanks for the suggestions.
  21. Either or.........you'll get arguments for each. Both will work just fine! IMO
  22. If you do pull the engine with tranny attached, don't forget to drain the transmission oil and wrap the the rear with plastic. Otherwise, you'll have two quarts of thick oil on your garage floor. Right Mark?
  23. Use the clutch disc and pressure plate that you have now, use the bearing, collar and release lever from the 4 speed in the 5 speed and everything will work just fine. The dimensions of the 4 speed and 5 speed are the same.
  24. Mitch......The A/F chart is at the bottom of the run........the A/F mix was incredibly constant throughout the range. The dyno operator said it was about as good as it gets. Bruce and Steve.....this should put to rest the argument about the SU's running out of gas on a modified L28. Keep up the excellent work at Z Therapy!
