  1. I use the stock L24 clutch and pressure plate with my fully modded L28 engines.......no problem! Make sure you use the L24 collar and clutch arm off of your current tranny, or if you use the new 5 speed collar and clutch arm, use an L28 clutch and pressure plate.
  2. Eiji just installed a 9 lb. Flywheel on a his 280 driver on my lift a couple weeks ago. He went back with the stock clutch. With stock, you know what fits with what. KISS is a good practice. You won't need a high performance clutch with what you're building IMO, but ask Eiji.
  3. I'd jack up the radiator cap and put a different car under it!
  4. The N42 is a fine block......many prefer it (Eiji at Datsun Spirit does). Either will work for any application even though some claim more strength in the F54. Use what you've got IMO.
  5. March Madness.......the way hoops should be played!
  6. Like the time I put a new set of Nissan points in my Z and it wouldn't fire...........drove me crazy...... till I noticed they put a small piece of paper between the points for protection. Cars run better when they have fire to the plugs!
  7. 167.68 Max H.P. AND 173.41 Max torque are still awesome numbers.......congrats on a nice motor!
  8. E Ticket.....Curious about the SAE number.....never seen that. Does it make adjustments for favorable conditions like dense air and cool temps? Which number is correct to compare apples to apples?
  9. Very impressive! Who did your head work?
  10. It seals metal to metal........Nissan recognized this and quit supplying gaskets years ago. Don't use anything. Just bolt it up and torque to spec.
  11. You don't need one.......just torque it to the block.
  12. Let us know in Richmond if you ever decide to sell "The Dime".
  13. Does David still have his silver Z? The V8?
  14. Eiji will build you a beautiful motor. I hope you use the stock Datsun blue on the block. Really glad you picked Eiji......he lives and breathes Datsun L series motors. Good choice! Guy
  15. Look at you Brian........nice job "old boy"....,,.can't wait to see it all together! Guy
  16. Irvine Z.......Great price....looks straight.....great color.

  18. You'll be able to reuse the spacer blocks.....not the gaskets.
  19. Install them as is.......dry.
  20. Bruce and Steve do such a beautiful job! All four pair of mine work flawlessly. It really makes a rebuild complete. Keep up the fair work Bruce! Nyuck, nyuck, nyuck!
  21. I think I'm going to be sick. So sorry Frank. That was one of my favorite cars! Guy
  22. I blew a freeze plug out once by running too many RPM's before the thermostat opened.........6500 RPM when the temp needle was at 1/4. Pumping all that water into a dead end block must have been too much. Experience is a good teacher!
  23. Eiji is a very good friend of mine and is "honest as the day is long". He sells high performance goodies straight from Japan. His engines are beautiful and make big H.P. numbers. He sells an engine bolt kit that is well labeled and has every new cad plated external bolt needed for your rebuild. You can trust Eiji.
  24. The higher you adjust the bottom latch, the tighter it latches........
