  1. Replated AM radio housing? And I thought I was OCD Outstanding restoration and fantastic attention to detail.
  2. I live just a few miles away from Vazquez Rocks, where the photos were taken. If the owner lives nearby, I haven't seen it on the road. Looks to be solid example and nice for a weekend driver.
  3. My rear harness is still in place. Only the exterior and engine bay was media blasted. I had a good base to start with. No rust repairs and just fixing door dings on the body.
  4. I ended up disconnecting the wiring harness and pulled into the passenger compartment through the firewall.
  5. This is the proper use for Fireball: https://gizmodo.com/fireball-whiskey-contains-an-antifreeze-ingredient-1652379798 I hear it makes good paint stripper, too.
  6. Well I just got me a new ball-peen hammer and English wheel at Harbor Freight. This might be a good winter project car.
  7. Back in the day, that's where you hid the dimebag from the fuzz.
  8. Sometimes the planets correctly align and a buyer find exactly what their looking for. The price hammer seems fair if this is what the new owner envisioned an ideal example would look like if they located the perfect blank canvas, and did not have the patience to tolerate the investment of time and headaches involved the in restoration process. It is easy to see when having disposable income and the desire to have it now would make the cash flow more freely.
  9. Just keep your 240Z in the box it came in and it will be fine.
  10. Did you look hard enough? Old Fart members like me know where all the bones are buried
  11. Grandpa Munster goes JDM?
  12. You should drive in LA traffic where tailgating is a birthright
  13. You can enjoy watching the door gap seams on the car open and close as it navigates over a speed bump at the local 'Cars and Coffee'.
  14. I grew up as a military brat in Hawaii and had lots of friends from Guam
  15. Nothing groundbreaking in the article that even a casual Datsun Z enthusiast would already know. All it does is bring the speculators and flippers out of the woodwork to drive original part prices even higher into the stratosphere. Five years ago I thought I was nuts forking over 50 bucks for a NOS 4-speed shift knob. Today I've seen some for quadruple the price.
  16. What's the cat litter for?
  17. Real nice find! I really loved that body kit as a teenager By the looks of the DoD vehicle decal on the windshield, it was once owned by a junior enlisted person.
  18. A scam is being perpetrated by one of the CL sellers, of course. My money is on the California post as being the bogus one and Canada as being legit. The California post has a too low asking price. Also, the post claims the car has been in California its whole life. If you look closely and the picture below, the lettering of the license plate is too light in color from that period.
  19. Or... You can buy the exact same car in California for a lot less https://inlandempire.craigslist.org/cto/6137818301.html
  20. The stock 240Z license plate lamp (as shown) housing have metal shield blocking the bulbs from directly shining down to the bumper. I'm not sure if the 280Z setup is similar.
  21. Put a small piece of electrical tape on the lenses that will cover the filament part of the bulbs just allowing the light around the edges get through. This should mitigate the refection caused by the bumpers.
  22. Here's a photo of mine FWIW
  23. My estimation is late 1971 or early 1972. Build date of my current car is 11/71 and it has the one in the upper-left of the photos with a chain connected to the base ring. A 1972 had I owned back in the 80s had a handle and chain configuration.
  24. Alright, sounds like you're in a rush then. If the backing is still good on your current panels, then skins from Les might be an option at $275. We now have available door skins for the door panels on your 240Z. These are a very nice reproduction of the original pattern and can be installed on your existing door hard boards. Send us your complete panels and our factory will install the new skins. http://www.classicdatsun.com/
