  2. Here are the bushings you need for the “A” type transmission that you have. Search for Datsun 510, there more people supplying them for their “A” type trans that is the same (shifter mount at least) as the early Z trans. Found these on ebay. This is the shift boot you need, that fits the trans tunnel. It has a groove that fits on the trans tunnel cut out.

  4. Want to update the progress so we can close the issue. She rev up the RPM to 1500 right away without hesitation. Your theory of sticking AAR didn't open is indeed correct. Car keep thinking it has enough air but in reality it was suffocate when cold. I'm a happy camper ? one down, many more nuances to go. Thanks for all the help and this issue is closed. regards

  6. Further back in the thread I have some pics of the older bulkier model I installed. Not a lot but the basic idea is to re-use the dimmer knob you have by removing the rheostat on the back end, attach a small bracket at the end of the dash metal behind the stock shaft and join the two with a section of rubber tube to create a soft join that flexes and absorbs torque. Here’s a pic of the old unit installed before it failed due to a short I accidentally created at the glove box.
